Hello Hilltopper Families!
I want to express my gratitude for your outstanding support in our recent fundraiser for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Your generosity has made a significant impact, allowing us to provide beds to children in need and create a more comfortable and secure sleeping environment for those less fortunate. We surpassed our goal of $1,000 and students and families at Park contributed $2,264.23!
Since our school reached more than its goal, I had to hold up my end of the deal. The students were excited to see me get PIED IN THE FACE by 23 students on Monday in an all school assembly. While it was a “sticky” situation, I expressed to the students that my brief uncomfortableness was nothing compared to being without a bed or basic needs. Well worth it!
Your compassionate contributions during kindness week truly embody the spirit of community and kindness that we strive to instill in our students at Park. Thank you for helping us make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee

Eclipse - No School for Students
There will be NO school for PK-12 students on Monday, April 8, 2024, — the day of the highly anticipated Total Solar Eclipse. In lieu of attending school, the District highly encourages students to safely enjoy the Total Solar Eclipse as this is certain to be an extraordinary and memorable scientific event to observe.
Message from the Clinic
Hi everyone! We would like to clarify the services we provide daily in the clinic. We are allowed to do daily care, first aid and emergent care. If any over the counter medication or prescribed meds are needed there are required forms allowing us to administer the medication/medicine. We have copies of the forms in the clinic and they are also available online under the HEALTH SERVICES page. If your child is in a boot, on crutches, in a sling, has a cast for safety reasons, we need a note from the treating doctor. A letter is also required for any treatments or accommodations that may be needed outside a normal educational day. For example: extended time to get to class, excused from gym, indoor recess, restricted from using the steps, etc.. It would be best practice to ALWAYS provide the school with a Dr.'s note if they have an appointment during the school day
If you have any questions please give us a call at Park or Munson. Thank you!

Mrs. Force’s third graders participated in a book tasting for their upcoming Wit and Wisdom module. The students explored a variety of stories and foods and used their critical thinking skills to actively engage with the content by questioning, analyzing, and reflecting on what they observed. Analyzing books during a tasting event not only enhances comprehension but also fosters a lifelong habit of thinking critically about the stories they encounter throughout their lives.
A little bit about our "Pie Mrs. Makee" fundraiser:
HELPING CHILDREN IN NEED SLEEP BETTER
This organization fully believes that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs.
All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health.
That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. They’re a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need. Their organization has grown steadily over time, and are working on opening more chapters in different states to serve more people. NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!®.
With your help, we raised $2,264! This will go towards providing:
$10- sheet set
$25-comforter
$100-mattress
$250-single be
$500-bunk bed
THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND GENEROUSITY! 🙂
💗 Each day of February, Mrs. Force wrote a letter to a student telling them what she loves about them. On their day, they got to be student of the day! 💗

IMPORTANT- BLIZZARD BAGS
Since we have reached our 5th calamity day, we want to inform you about our Blizzard Bag Plan for Park Elementary which went home on February 9th. We are providing Blizzard Bags to your child in the event of inclement weather resulting in a school closure. This will enable your child to continue their learning at home. These bags will contain TWO DAYS WORTH of assignments and activities which align with their current curriculum. Your child's teacher will provide instructions and we encourage you to engage with your child in completing these assignments to ensure continuity in their education. As for the specials classes, complete ONLY the activity for the special the child has on that calamity day. You will have 10 school days to complete each day's Blizzard Bag assignments. For example, if we have a snow day on March 1, the bag would be due on March 15th. We appreciate your support in making learning a collaborative effort, even on snow days. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office.
