We are almost a month into school. It has been a busy month at the Secondary Campus. We are in the misted Football and Cross Country. FFA is gearing up for Leadership Development Competition and stock shows. Progress Reports have been submitted for the first three weeks of school.
This week is Homecoming Week. Please click link for details for the week. Information to note:
- SENIORS will be painting 4th Street during the school day this week. We will not be painting after the Fall Festival on Tuesday evening.
- Permission to Ride the Float- Please complete form by clicking link for your student to be able to ride their class float in the parade. If this form is not completed, your student will not be able to ride on the class float in the parade. This form also have information needed for dismissal after the Pep Rally on Friday.
- We are pre-selling tickets to the game in the Secondary school office from Tuesday until noon on Friday.

Grading Policy
- Grades 6-12, grades will be recorded into the teacher gradebook weekly. By the end of the three week grading period, a minimum of 5 grades must be recorded into the Gradebook. By the end of the six week grading period, a minimum of 10 grades must be recorded into the gradebook with a minimum of 2 grades in the summative assessment category of the Gradebook. Grades recorded in the gradebook should be linked to key understanding, performance assessments, or TEKS student expectations.
- Students, at the teacher's discretion, may be allowed one reasonable opportunity to correct an assignment or re-take a daily grade for which the student received a 70 or below. The purpose of re-teaching and re-assessment is to allow students who have not yet demonstrated mastery of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills additional opportunities to learn. The final grade will be determined by an average of the first grade and second grade, with a maximum grade of 75. Test and unit projects will be based on the first attempt.
Grades 6-12, if work is assigned and available to the student prior to absences, the student is expected to submit work on due date or immediately upon return. Teacher discretion may be used to extend the deadline based on parent/student/teacher communication.

Dress Code
The Dress Code is intended to help our student’s positive self-image. To maintain these objectives the following regulations concerning student appearance are to be followed:
- No type of head covering will be worn in the building during regular school hours; such as but not limited to caps, hoods, and hats.
- Shaded glasses may not be worn in the building unless prescribed by a doctor.
- The neckline of shirts and blouses must not exceed three inches below the base of the throat.
- No skin is to be visible between the neckline of the shirt and the hem of the shorts/pants when sitting or standing. Midriff must be covered at all times.
- Shirts need to have a minimum of a one inch strap over the shoulder.
- When wearing spandex shorts and pants (ex. leggings)- shirt must cover rear
- Shorts must have an inseam of 4 inches or longer.
- A skirt or dress must meet the same requirements for length of shorts
- Jeans with tears or rips, holes must meet the same requirements as the length of shorts, no skin showing above the 4 inch inseam length.
- Clothing designed to be worn at the waist should be worn at the waist. No “sagging”.
- Shoes, boots or other acceptable footwear must be worn at all times while in the building. House shoes are not acceptable. Students are urged to use good judgment regarding footwear and health or safety issues.
- No pajamas.
- No oversized, extremely loose garments are to be worn; such as but not limited to trench coats and blankets.
- All articles of apparel must be free of disruptive, suggestive, obscene or objectionable phrases, pictures or advertisements.
- Clothing should be free of extraneous material such as hanging straps, accessories or any other items deemed inappropriate by the principal.
- Hair is to be styled so that it is out of the eyes.
Cell Phones
We ask that students not use their cell phone during the school day. High School may use them freely during lunch. Just having the cell phone in the classroom decrease student's working memory.
