LCTC Community,
I hope this message finds you well. We had a busy week at LCTC. We honored Charlotte Aktins, our FHS Rotary Award winner. Monday evening, the School Board recognized CTE month where current students spoke about the impact their CTE programs have had on them. State Representative Stephanie Young came to read Governor Whitmer’s CTE Month proclamation. Our pre-medicine classes hosted a blood drive and collected 68 units of blood. Fashion Merchandising classes are putting the finishing touches on their annual fashion show. Please see below to purchase tickets and support a wonderful cause.
We have three weeks remaining in marking period three, please check your student’s progress in ParentConnect each week. If your student appears to be struggling, I encourage you to contact your student’s teacher.

Thank you to all of the students, and faculty for your selfless act of donating blood! Remember, you saved up to three lives with a single donation and up to six with a double-packed cell donation!
Congratulations to the Pre-Med students for holding such a successful donation. Per Versiti, "LCTC's single drive was the most successful so far this 2023/24 school year!"

CONSTRUCTION TRADES I
Construction Trades 1 students learning about vinyl siding and heavy equipment operations on our excavator simulator.
Construction 1 students learning a new skill sweating copper pipes together for their upcoming plumbing lessons.
CONSTRUCTION TRADES II
Construction Trades 2 Students are finished painting the interior of the house, running electrical to the garage they built, and installing vinyl siding.
CAREER INTERN PROGRAM
Students in the Career Intern II program recently took a trip to the Escape Zone in Farmington to learn about teamwork. They entered the Alcatraz room, the hardest room at the zone, blindfolded and in handcuffs that represented the inmates at the real Alcatraz back in the day. Less than five percent escaped this room, and they were so close - just one more clue to work out when their time ran out. It was a fun afternoon, and they learned a lot!
