Audition Information
How Do I Audition?
Select one of songs provided at the Audition Workshop and practice.
You will be asked to sing your song.
You only need to sing alone if you want to be considered for a solo part.
Say your first and last name.
Present your song
The same day you will dance as part of a small group.
Practice the dance video or attend the workshop.
What should I wear:
Be yourself but the best version of yourself.
You do not need to wear a costume
Be neat, comfortable and prepared to move
Does my song need to be memorized?
No, you may hold the music. It would be best if you were familiar enough to hold it down and away from your face.
You Should:
Sing out and clearly
Use both facial expression and body language
No chewing gum
Understand that your audition starts as soon as you walk in the room not just when you are on stage or at the piano.
Practice, practice, practice
What is the Acting Audition?
- You will be asked to share a monologue from the script or a small scene called a Side. You do not have to have this memorized. They will be posted on the Cameron Drama Website to read ahead of time and we will go over them at the Audition Workshop.
Auditions are Only for People Auditioning
- Students, teachers, parents, friends are NOT allowed to sit and watch auditions. Even if a student is signed up to be a member of the crew, they will not be allowed to watch auditions.
- The only people allowed are adult members of the production team, a minimum number of High School helpers and our stage manager.
