Purpose

These scholarships, sponsored by Cedar Falls Utilities, are intended for Cedar Falls High School students interested in pursuing a career in electric line construction; gas and water construction; gas services; electronic/digital technology; or any other utility-related field.

The criteria for this scholarship is to complete this form and do a job shadow at CFU!!

WITH A 2-YEAR DEGREE, YOU CAN EARN A BASE PAY OF $70,000 PER YEAR!

  • Every day you’re doing something new.
  • In the next few years, approximately 400-500 utility technicians will retire in Iowa … thousands more in other states.
  • You can stay in Iowa or travel across the country.
  • Job prospects are greatest for those who can work indoors or outdoors, operate heavy equipment, monitor machine operations, and demonstrate proper safety procedures (all of which is taught in the MCC degree programs!).

Bottom line: if you graduate from our program, we can almost guarantee you a job. Many employers come to the MCC campus to interview and recruit our students before they’ve even graduated from our programs!

Amount

Up to 3 scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,500 each, which will be paid as follows: $750 directly to the school beginning of the first semester and the second $750 at the beginning of the second semester paid directly to the school upon proof of passing grades for the first semester. Due date is April 1st.

All you need to do is fill out a form and do a job shadow!
