SENIOR CHECKOUT - THURSDAY, MAY 12 & FRIDAY, MAY 13 - LIBRARY

This Thursday and Friday, Seniors will turn in their Chromebooks and Chargers and go through Senior Checkout in the LEHS Library. Please take care of returning equipment, uniforms, textbooks and libraries prior to Thursday. Please see the schedule so that you know when to go to the library for checkout:

Thursday, May 12: Seniors with last name A - G

5th Period: Seniors will come through during lunch if they do not have an early release
6th Period: Seniors with senior release 6th period
7th Period: Seniors with senior release 7th period

Friday, May 13: Seniors with last name H - Z

5th Period: Seniors will come through during lunch if they do not have an early release

Seniors will:

1. Turn in Chromebooks & Chargers

2. Complete Flash Photography postcard to receive graduation photos

3. Review pronunciation of your name for graduation ceremony

4. Turn in textbooks, library books, pay fines and fees

5. Review Status on CPR, FAFSA, Police Officer Interaction Requirements (all are required for graduation and walking stage)

CONGRATULATION ACADEMIC UIL TEAM

Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 Little Elm HS had its largest group in recent years compete at the UIL Regional Academic Meet at the University of Texas at Arlington. Summer Orr placed 6th in Headline Writing and the Spelling team finished 5th, which placed them in the top 10 teams in the state in 6A. We are so proud of their accomplishments! The spelling team is made up of Anthony Florentino, Sophia Garcia, Aidan Semancik, and AyomikunTaiwo. Other Regional Qualifiers include Aimua Ilogienboh, Katarina Meseke (not pictured), and Melissa Sosa (not pictured).

SUMMER ORR - 6TH PLACE IN HEADLINE WRITING

LEHS ART STUDENTS COMPETE AT STATE VASE

Last weekend LEHS Art teachers Mrs. Kelly Sutherland and Mr. Chris Melia had the privilege of taking a small group of young artists down to San Marcos High School for the State VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event). Throughout the last several months Texas has been getting ready for this event with 31,000 entries throughout the State. 1,952 of those entries made it to State. Getting to State is an outstanding accomplishment in itself.

This year Andrea Salamanca, Catherine Kang’oroti, Kiera Clements, and Alex Geiser were among the 1,952 to make it to the State level. At the State Event, the work is juried by jurors from all over the state consisting of “College professors, retired and current art educators, professional artists, and photographers.” Each work of art is rated with a 3, 4, or 5, with 4's and 5's receiving State Medallion.

Rating 4 – Catherine Kang'oroti – Freshman - Div. 1. "Jealousy"

Rating 4 – Kiera Clements – Senior - Div. 4. “Inevitability”

Rating 5 – Alex Geiser – Junior - Div. 3. “Coulrophobia”

Of the 1,952 State Entries 150 of those received a rating of a 5 and Gold Seal Medallion.

This is the highest honor of recognition at this competition. ALEX GEISER received this award. This was a first for our Sculpture Program. This year that put her in the top .5% of all the entries throughout the state to receive the award.

CONGRATULATIONS NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTEES

Last week, LEHS inducted almost 100 new members into the National Honor Society. Sponsor Paige Wolf and the NHS officers hosted the ceremony for inductees and parents to recognize these students. Congratulations NHS new inductees!

LEHS CTE PICNIC CELEBRATES STUDENT SUCCESS!

Teachers and students enjoyed a picnic celebrating student success in the different LEHS CTE programs of study Wednesday night. Culinary, welding, health science, engineering, business and marketing students were all recognized Thanks to the Little Elm parks department for letting us use the beautiful facility at Little Elm park.

Event Information

Little Elm High School Graduation Ceremony

Commencement exercises for the LEHS Class of 2022 will be at the UNT Coliseum (Super Pit) on May 20th at 10am. The coliseum will open at 9am to family and guests. Tickets are not required for this event and there is no limit on the number of guests that can attend per graduate. UNT does not allow saving seats. See links to campus map and clear bag policy below.
