#ThankYouThursday honoring teachers in November
Our teachers, administrators, and staff (and our student families) have done a fabulous job innovating, pivoting, and learning to do their jobs in new ways -- all while wearing masks, keeping physically distanced, and sanitizing, sanitizing, sanitizing ...
I was thrilled this week to see a new community effort to use Thursdays in November to thank teachers. (See the above ad from the local newspaper.)
I invite you join this effort, or better yet, send a note of support.

CVOID Update: Reopening Hubbard; Lack of subs leads to one-day closure of Kuna Middle School
Monday, we welcome back our Hubbard Elementary staff and students for in person learning after a two week pivot to online learning.
We need substitutes!
We will close Kuna Middle Monday for one day with students returning Tuesday.
While known staff absences, Monday, Nov. 9 at Kuna Middle weren't enough to meet our threshold to close a school (25% or more), we didn't have enough substitutes for the spots.
We need subs. If you know of someone, please encourage them to apply! Here's the link.
Please keep your students home while families members are waiting for COVID results
Normally, when someone is sick in our students' households, it's OK for the child to come to school if he/she doesn't have any symptoms.
COVID is different. If someone in your household is waiting for COVID test results, please don't send your child to school until results come back. If the test result is negative, send your child to school. If the test result is positive, contact the school to identify when the student can return.
We're sending every student home with a device this year so we can "stay home" when needed to reduce the spread of the virus and keep our schools OPEN and children learning!
In this week's numbers, you'll see more positive cases as the spread of the virus grows in our community. Our mitigation efforts are essential to staying healthy and open for in person learning. Please make sure your child has a clean mask to wear every day at school and on the bus.
A reminder that visitors to our schools are required to wear a mask and follow distancing rules.
Positive cases in our county, state, and nation are on the rise and you'll see an increase in our numbers, too. With our help, we can keep our schools the safest place for your child outside of your home.
