Cedar Grove Friday Flash
November 15, 2024
Dear Cedar Grove Families:
Last week, we sent a reminder about parent conferences on November 25 and 26 and included some conference tips. During conferences, it is important to hear from parents and families about how their student is progressing in school. We've included additional resources specific to math and reading as you prepare for conferences. To view this additional information, please visit the MCPS Elementary Math webpage and MCPS Reading @ Home webpage.
We have recently seen a rise in student illnesses and ask that you please review this document, When to Keep Your Child Home from School. This will provide guidance as to when it would be best for your child to stay home and when children can return to school. We appreciate your help in minimizing the spread of illnesses. Thank you.
We hope to see you at Bingo Night tonight at Hallie Wells Middle School!
Have a wonderful weekend!

From Mrs. Hirschhorn, Media Specialist
The November Media Monthly has been updated. We have a few new books that we added to the collection. We're also continuing our Native American Heritage Month/Thanksgiving lessons. Students who had their lessons this past week asked for the link to the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Greetings to the Natural World which is a very interactive "round robin reading," and might be a fun activity at your Thanksgiving table! (We used drums, too, but you can always follow along as your child drums on the table!) I hope to see you at Bingo on Friday! Have a wonderful weekend!
