Students celebrating our Pet Mass, led by Father Ivan.
October 10th, 2024
This past Wednesday, our St. Patrick Catholic School students gathered in a beautiful celebration of the Living Rosary. The Living Rosary is a special way to experience this traditional prayer, where each bead is prayed aloud by a student. The students, representing each bead of the Rosary, stood in the center of the gym, forming the shape of the Rosary. Twice a year, in the fall and spring, we make it a priority for our students to come together as a large group to experience the power of the Rosary.
The Rosary is much more than a series of repeated prayers; it’s a heartfelt reflection on the life of Jesus and Mary. Through this practice, we teach our students that the Rosary is a spiritual tool for meditation and deep prayer. The Living Rosary brings this beautiful tradition to life, involving our students in a meaningful way that strengthens their faith and connection to God.
When we come together as a community to pray the Rosary, it allows each of us to reflect on the profound impact that Mary and Jesus have on our lives, guiding us with their example of love, humility, and sacrifice.
This is another example of our students being able to experience and grow in the Catholic faith. Our students participation in the Living Rosary helps them experience another great Catholic experience while getting the opportunity to speak in a leadership role.
Blessings,
Mr. Wiebers

📖 Scholastic Book Fair : Oct 14th-18th
Get Ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way! Starting on Monday, October 14th after Monday Morning Prayer students and parents are welcome to shop the Book Fair. The Book Fair will be open for 30 minutes every day after school, and it will also be open at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 18th. Students are able to purchase books all day during Tuesday and Thursday, with cash or through eWallet.
This year, we will again offer an alternative to cash: eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy. Cash will still be accepted at the book fair, this is just an alternative to sending cash with your child.
If you can't shop in person, you can shop online here.

Volunteer Night at the NE Iowa Food Bank
All families are welcome!
St. Patrick School has a long standing tradition of family volunteer nights at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. This year, we are hoping to get involvement back up to pre-COVID levels, but we need your help. The food bank always has great volunteer jobs for us to do that are age-appropriate for our students and give you the opportunity as parents to teach your kids about why the food bank is critical to our community.
Please join us on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (except March) this school year from 6-7:30pm. This is a great way also for the 5th-8th graders to complete their required service hours.
We are limited to 30 spots, so if you are interested, please contact me, Erin Youngblut, at erinyoungblut@gmail.com to register.
