π Virtual Info Session: "Attending US Service/Military Academies"
Wednesday, September 20, at 6:30pm on Zoom with the offices of Sen. Peters & Rep. Stevens
The Offices of U.S. Congresswoman Haley Stevens and U.S. Senator Gary Peters are having an informational Zoom presentation for anyone interested in attending a United States service academy. Register here!
Representatives from each of the academies (United States Military Academy-Westpoint, United States Naval Academy, United States Air Force Academy, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy), as well as the United States Coast Guard Academy, will be attending to present on their institution and answer any questions attendees might have!
Attending a service academy is an incredible way to serve our country while also getting a world-class education! Attending a service academy is completely free of charge β this includes tuition, room and board, and other expenses and stipends that equate to up to $400,000. Graduates from these academies are commissioned as officers into the United States military. Because of this, it is an extremely competitive and complex application process.
In order to attend one of these academies (United States Military Academy-Westpoint, United States Naval Academy, United States Air Force Academy, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy), a candidate would need to receive a nomination from a Member of Congress or the Vice President of the United States (among a few others for very specific individuals).
To learn more about this great opportunity β students, families, and any interested educational staff are encouraged to register here. You may also reach out to Congresswoman Stevensβ Academy Coordinator, Zach Rich, at zachary.rich@mail.house.gov or 734-853-3040.
