HALO NOTES
St. Louis Catholic High School - Thurs. Oct. 24, 2024
Advancement in Action!
Dear St. Louis Community,
As we stand on the brink of an exciting new journey with the development of our new campus on Corbina Road, I am filled with both anticipation and gratitude. This moment is not just about a physical move; it represents an opportunity to reflect on who we are and what truly binds us together.
Our traditions are indeed a vital part of our identity, but their essence is not confined to a specific building or campus. They are woven into the very fabric of our community—the strength, resilience, and unwavering values that define us. As we transition to our new campus, we carry these traditions with us, ensuring that the pride we share, the high standards we uphold, and the sense of family we cultivate will continue to flourish.
While change can sometimes feel daunting, it offers us a unique opportunity to build upon the rich heritage that has shaped our past. The new campus is not a departure from our traditions; rather, it is a chance to strengthen them, to foster an environment that embodies the spirit of excellence and pride that has always characterized our school.
We honor our past not by standing still, but by adapting and growing in ways that will ensure our legacy endures for generations to come. I firmly believe that our traditions will not only survive this transition—they will thrive.
To support this transformative journey, I invite you to learn more about the Spreading Roots, Growing Saints Capital Campaign. Together, we can ensure that every student receives the best educational experience possible, rooted in the values that define us. For more information, please visit our school website or reach out to me directly.
Thank you for being an essential part of our community. Together, we will embrace this new chapter with open hearts and unwavering commitment.
Honor and Praise God in All Ways!

Visitors on campus - Check outs, drop offs
Let's work together to build student independence! The front office is the hub of the school, and we APPRECIATE Mrs. Melissa and Mrs. Dawn. Please help us with the following:
- Check the weekly schedule
- Avoid bringing items to the front office and let your student learn to be more organized
- If you need to reach your child during the day, send them an email or call the front office
- For checkouts - complete the attendance portal on our website. We will call the students out of class and send them out to meet you. No need to come in to sign them in/out in the front office.
A reminder that all absences, regardless of excused or unexcused goes against the minimum seat time requirements as put forth by the State of Louisiana. No student may be exempt from a final exam for a class in which seat time is owed, regardless of the grade in the class.
Thank you for helping us keep a safe and secure campus.

October 28 - November 1
FACTS - grades
As education partners, SLCHS works with students and parents to develop independent learners. We encourage students to check their own grades and share that information with parents. Four short years of high school fly by and students need to be self-sufficient as they leave the nest! We are here to help!
Complete these steps to set up your FACTS account to view grades. The parent AND the student will each need to create an account. Please email mlejeune@slchs.org with any issues

Orange, Blue & You Jr. High Dance - TIME CHANGE
The Youth Ministry Office at the Diocese of Lake Charles is planning a Junior High lock-in and will soon have details for our youth. Since the lock-in is being planned for October 26, the same night as our Orange, Blue & You Jr. High Dance, we are changing the times of the dance so that those families with a student wanting to also attend the lock-in can transition between the Pavilion at St. Louis Catholic to Camp Karol.
So that our youth can have two fun events to attend that evening, the new time for the dance is 6:00-8:00pm. Please see the updated flyers, and please be sure to RSVP for the event.

SERVICE - Hurricane Helene Relief
We have received many inquiries from people in our community as to how we can best help those affected by Hurricane Helene and for those that will be in need with Hurricane Milton. We as a school will be teaming up with Catholic Charities and would recommend anyone who is wanting to help to do the same, as they have a direct contact to other Catholic Charities affiliates in both areas that are in need and will be in need. More information will be going out next week on what we will be doing as a school but in the meantime, we wanted to thank you all who have reached out and are wanting to help!
