Family Weekly Update
MVHS- 9/6/24
Entering MVHS
We have noticed that some students have been allowing peers to enter the building through back and side doors. This practice is strictly prohibited. During school hours, all students and guests must enter through the main office entrance.
If we discover that students are entering through side doors, disciplinary action will be taken against both the students who open the door and those who sneak in.
Please adhere to this rule to ensure the safety and security of our school community.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Student Attendance at Football Games
As we kick off another exciting football and Marching Band season, we want to express our deep appreciation for our community's unwavering support for our students over the years. Your enthusiasm and school spirit are what make our games truly special.
In previous seasons, we have noticed an increase in the number of unsupervised minors attending our games, which has led to some disruptive behaviors and congestion in common areas between the concession and stands. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we are setting the expectation that all students remain in the stands during the game and not congregate in the common areas. Additionally, for this season, we are asking that elementary school students must be accompanied by a parent or adult in order to attend our high school football games. Unaccompanied minors or students who fail to adhere to administrative expectations will be escorted to the field house, where parents/guardians will be called to pick up their children.
We’re excited for a fantastic season ahead and appreciate your cooperation in helping us create a positive and secure environment for all attendees. Thank you for your continued support in making our football games a wonderful community event.
Thank You for your Support, and Go, Jackets!
Immunizations for Seniors
The State of Ohio requires all students entering the 12th grade to receive a Meningitis Booster. The State of Ohio also allows parents to exempt their children from immunizations for religious/good cause or medical reasons.
If you choose not to vaccinate your child an Immunization Exemption Form must be completed. Depending upon your browser, you may have to download the document to enable fillable fields.
Complete the form and send it as an attachment to lshoemaker@mvcsd.us or return the completed form to your child’s school secretary.
Early Release/Late Arrival
Upperclassmen who have study hall to begin or end the day are eligible for this privilege as long as they maintain good attendance and grades and do not have discipline issues. There are forms in the office for any upperclassmen who is interested in this incentive. Some of the forms state that this will not begin until September 6. However, we will begin this program on Monday, August 26.
