NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello Parents/Guardians!
SENIORS! There are only two weeks left of school! Please be sure that we do everything we can to be as successful as possible as we approach graduation!
UNDERCLASSMEN! There are only three weeks left of school! You have a little more time (but not much)! Please do everything you can to maximize and make the most out of the rest of your school year!
This will be a senior heavy newsletter to start! Afterward, the focus is on VHS Physicals (GREAT OPPORTUNITY, please see below if you have athletes at VHS!), our upcoming Choir Concert, and so much more!
Summer School (Scroll Down a Bit!) is a great opportunity to get back on track, recover credits (all Core Classes), or get ahead (in Spanish I, or Software Design)! Please consider it!
We will also have Yearbook Distribution Thursday, along with a Yearbook Signing Party at 3:30 after school in the Aux Gym!
PLEASE SCROLL THROUGH THE MAILER AND SEE WHAT CATCHES YOUR EYE! There are a lot of great things happening at VHS! I know it's a lot of information, but give it a go, and I'm confident you'll find some points of interest!

🧠 MASTERY LEARNING IN THE AFUHSD 🧠
📝 Introduction to Master Learning 📝
Why Mastery Learning?
Our district is committed to not only focusing on academic knowledge but also equipping students with the skills they need to succeed in the workforce. By helping students master skills, our high schools ensure that graduates are better prepared for the demands and expectations of the professional world. Along with key academic coursework, mastering skills in high school can have a long-lasting impact on students' careers. The skills students develop during their education can serve as a solid foundation for their future professional growth. Proficiency in skills such as technology, leadership, creativity, and collaboration can contribute to career advancement and open doors to opportunities. We believe that students who develop strong skills during their education are more likely to embrace continuous learning and seek personal and professional development throughout their lives. This is crucial in a rapidly evolving job market where individuals need to adapt to new technologies, industries, and work environments.
