Dear Farnham Families,
We would like to share important information about our updated independent study policy. In alignment with district guidelines, independent study is intended to support students who are unable to attend school due to unavoidable circumstances, such as illness or emergencies. Unfortunately, this policy does not extend to family travel or vacations. As such, teachers are not required to provide schoolwork for students during these absences. We encourage families to plan vacations during school breaks to ensure students have consistent access to classroom instruction and resources. Thank you for your understanding and partnership in supporting your child’s learning.
CA Data Dashboard
The CA School Data Dashboard is an online tool that provides the most accurate information on the performance of schools, districts, and student groups in California. The dashboard's purpose is to help educators and parents understand school and district progress so they can work together to improve student learning. Register for Ongoing Food Assistance & Holiday Outreach
Ongoing food assistance is available by registering at https://bit.ly/RObarcode.
To obtain food at the Celebration of Love Food Distribution event on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., register by texting "love24" to 408-676-1499. You will receive a link via text to complete the process so you can pick up food that day.

The laws surrounding independent studies have recently changed, and below are some of the notable changes:
An Independent Study can only be used for emergencies, illness, or unique and special circumstances.
Independent Studies can be for one instructional day and no more than 15 consecutive school days.
Only one independent study agreement is permitted per school year.
Ten school days' notice is required before the start date of the Independent Study.
Independent Study will not be granted within the first three weeks of a school year.
Independent Study will not be granted during the annual state testing window.
Independent Study will not be granted within the last three weeks of a school year. (That would be after Friday, May 15, 2025, for the 2024-25 school year.)
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adjust to the new laws and regulations.
The Board of Trustees has scheduled its Board Office Hours for the upcoming year. All staff, parents, and community members are welcome to attend regardless of what site the meeting is held at. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet some of our Board members and ask any questions you might have.

Cambrian School District is pleased to offer all students complimentary snack at morning recess and lunch meals at lunch recess. Meals will be available for pickup in the cafeteria during scheduled meal periods. Please consider taking advantage of our FREE school meals by clicking here and signing up. It extends your grocery budget, saves time planning and preparing meals, and is comforting and familiar for kids to have school meals. In addition, every meal served is reimbursed by the USDA and funds go toward Child Nutrition staff wages. Please note that you are not taking food away from someone who needs it more – we have plenty to go around!
