Announcements
Improving Communications
This year, MEA has implemented a new tool enabling us to send text messages to families, ensuring a secure and rapid means of communication. Initially, this system was exclusively available for communications with parents/guardians. However, for the remainder of the year, MEA will be participating in a test group, extending this communication channel to include students. To facilitate this expansion, we kindly request that students with cell phones complete the following form.
New MEA Mural
MEA will be welcoming a new mural later this month, painted almost entirely by MEA students (teachers are also invited to help)! You are invited to help paint this new mural on Wednesday, May 22nd and Thursday, May 23rd from 11:30 to 1:30 on the wall outside the Maker Space. Please fill out the form so we can have an idea of how many people to expect at which times/days.
ATTENTION SECONDARY STUDENTS: if you are interested in helping to paint the mural beyond student paint days, please indicate that on the Google form or email emmabaxter376@gmail.com.
Yearbook Purchases After Deadline
Missed the deadline to purchase a yearbook to be sent to the school? No problem!
You may still purchase a yearbook and design your customized pages to be shipped directly to your home.
For those who did purchase a yearbook by the deadline, we will let you know as soon as the school yearbook order has arrived!
Thank you for your orders!

SENIORS
FAFSA Opt Out Form
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) determines a pupil’s eligibility for financial aid to assist with a pupil’s attendance at a college or career school. California Education Code (CEC) § 51225.7 requires a local educational agency to confirm each 12th grade pupil’s completion and submission of a FAFSA or CADAA unless the pupil is determined to be exempt or an opt-out form is completed by a pupil who is a legally emancipated minor, a pupil who is 18 years or older, a legal guardian, or parent, or a local educational agency on a pupil’s behalf.
This opt-out form permits a pupil to opt out of the completion of a FAFSA or CADAA form.

Academics
Leader in Me - Habit 8
For month 9, our school's focus is the 8th Habit: Find Your Voice and inspire others to find theirs. It is about fulfillment, passionate execution and significant contribution.
Voice is our unique personal significance which lies at the nexus of talent (natural gifts and strength), passion (things that naturally energizes, excites, motivates and inspires us), need (including what the world needs enough to pay us for), and conscience (that still, small voice within that assures us of what is right and prompts us to do it).
When we engage in work that taps our talent and fuels our passion – that rises out of a great need in the world that we feel drawn by conscience to meet – therein lies our voice, our calling, our soul’s code. - Stephen R. Covey
