Flex Day Reminder
Now that we are looking ahead to the month of May, we want to remind all families about the Flex Day scheduled for Friday, May 23, 2025.
Unless another school closure is deemed necessary in the next three weeks, the Flex Day will be a day off for all MTSD students and an inservice day for staff. While we hope that winter weather is finished for this year, we do know Wisconsin weather can be unpredictable. If any inclement weather days occur before May 23, we will re-consider the instructional time at the elementary and middle school levels and provide an update as needed.
MTSD Board of Education Update
Two incumbents retain seats and Board appoints new member to fill vacancy
Mequon-Thiensville School District (MTSD) Board of Education members Jason Levash and Michael Stadler will each serve an additional three-year term as a result of the spring election on Tuesday, April 1. Both members ran uncontested to retain their seats and will serve on the Board until April 2028.
On Wednesday, April 9, the MTSD Board of Education appointed Nicholas Korger to fill a Board member vacancy following the resignation of Board Vice President Shelley Burns earlier this month. Korger’s term on the Board begins immediately and will expire in April 2026. Korger was one of seven applicants who engaged in the Board vacancy interview process during the Board’s special business meeting on the evening of April 9. Korger serves as the Assistant General Counsel for the Medical College of Wisconsin, focusing on strategic initiatives involving partnerships, new ventures, and real estate transactions. He resides in Mequon with his wife and has three years of experience coaching in the Jr. Highlanders boys basketball program. Congratulations to Mr. Levash, Dr. Stadler, and Mr. Korger!

Help us build outdoor pickleball courts at Range Line Community Center!
Did you know that the Mequon-Thiensville School District is one of only about 10% of school districts in the state that provide the community's recreation services and programming?
Pickleball, one of the Mequon-Thiensville Recreation Department's most popular adult programs and now one of America’s fastest-growing sports, brings people of all ages together for fun, fitness, and friendly competition. The MTSD and M-T Rec. Dept. are excited to announce the opportunity for community members and businesses to support the construction of eight dedicated outdoor pickleball courts at the Range Line Community Center, located at 11040 N. Range Line Rd. This initiative will provide a welcoming space where players can gather, refine their skills, and enjoy the sport in a high-quality recreational environment.
With an initial project goal of $375,000, the project will include essential amenities such as walkways, fencing, nets, and windscreens, ensuring a top-tier playing experience for all users. Additional goals include playground replacement and indoor bathroom access. As pickleball has gained popularity over the recent years, the M-T Recreation Department has earmarked approximately $300,000 of its reserves (revenue that can only be spent on recreation services) towards the eventual construction of outdoor courts.
MTSD invites individuals, families, and businesses to contribute to this project and help bring this vision to life. Every donation, at any level, will bring us one step closer to making these courts a reality and fostering a lasting impact on our community.

HHS Spring Play: A Midsummer Night's Dream
This luxurious tale of fairies, dreams, and moonlight is Shakespeare’s most popular comedy. Deep in the magical forest a feuding King and Queen cross paths with four runaway lovers and a troupe of actors, resulting in tempestuous love triangles, contagious fogs and moonlight revels. Midsummer captures the exhilaration, foolishness, and delight of young love, as the chaos of magic and enchantment turns the world upside down. Join us for one of Shakespeare’s comedies with the aerial arts interspersed. Showtimes are April 25 and 26 at 7 p.m. and April 27 at 1 p.m. in Homestead's James Barr Performing Arts Center.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the door:
- Students - $8
- Adults - $10
