To our ALA Family -Thanks for your Support
We just wanted to take a minute and say thank you for the overwhelming support we had for our Valentines Fundraiser. We were able to share the skills we have been learning in class and spread a little joy and happiness with the valentines we made. We appreciate all the support we were given from parents, students and community members.

ELEMENTARY INFORMATION
Message from our Elementary Principals
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Thank you to everyone who came to our Parent Engagement Night last night. It was wonderful to see all the families enjoying time together.
We are thankful to everyone for your support in following our carpool procedures. The safety issues we were seeing in the back parking lot have improved greatly, and we are thankful for your support in this. As a friendly reminder, please do not cut in line for carpool. Showing respect to our carpool routines and especially the other parents who have patiently been waiting in line is greatly appreciated.
March is going to be the Elementary’s Bullying & Kindness Awareness Month, which ties perfectly to our RISE UP values, especially respect, integrity, excellence and unity. Our Family Engagement Night in March will be centered around Bullying & Kindness and so will our assembly in March. In addition to these events, we are excited to display more visuals of our RISE UP values around the school in the coming weeks.
We would like to share some resources with you regarding bullying and kindness to speak with your children at home. At ALA, we believe the parents are the child’s first teacher, and greatest advocate; therefore, we understand you can have the greatest impact on cultivating character growth.
These resources will be in preparation for the activities and discussions that will come in March. One of the biggest parts of learning how to react to bullying is understanding the basics of what bullying is. Please review the teasing vs bullying graphic from last week if you haven’t already. This week, please read the book Be Kind by Pat Zietlow Miller and Jen Hill or watch the read aloud here. Discuss with your child how being kind is important not only to our own wellbeing, but to others as well.
Thank you,
Principal Anderson

SECONDARY INFORMATION
Note from our Secondary Principal - Amanda Kuhnz
Dear ALA Families,
At ALA, we pride ourselves on nurturing an environment where Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, Unity, and Patriotism (R.I.S.E. U.P.) are at the core of everything we do. These values are not just words on a wall – they are essential to success as students and as individuals who will contribute to a greater community. I want to take a moment to reflect on how the upcoming value for the month of March, Unity, might guide our students towards becoming the best version of themselves and why regular attendance plays a critical role in achieving that goal.
Unity reminds us that we are stronger together. Our school is a place where everyone’s unique qualities come together to form a supportive and collaborative community. Your presence in class, every day, strengthens this unity. It’s through working together that we all achieve success, and your regular attendance plays a big part in ensuring we all move forward as one.
Finally, regular school attendance is not just important for this value—it is essential for your academic success. Students who attend school consistently are more likely to pass their classes, maintain high grades, and graduate on time. Missing even a few days can cause you to fall behind, making it more difficult to catch up and ultimately succeed. By showing up every day, you give yourself the best opportunity to reach your full potential. I encourage each of you to "Show Up!" This is the name of our attendance incentive for the next 2 terms on the secondary campus. Regular attendance gets your name in our drawing for customized Nikes!
Come see our musicals (Hadestown is happening now)! Come see our Dance performances! Come see our sporting events! Be present, be dedicated, and remember that each event you attend for school, you are taking an important step toward becoming a part of something great. Let’s continue to build a school community where respect, integrity, service, excellence, unity, and patriotism are reflected in everything we do.
