Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori based approach to the religious formation of children. Students come to a specially prepared environment called the atrium to work with hands on materials that help them explore and reflect on scripture, prayer, and liturgical events. First Reconciliation and First Communion
Students can prepare for First Reconciliation and First Communion in both the Good Shepherd and Elementary program.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
As part of the preparation process, children in Second Level will attend weekly mediations throughout the month of May. These meditations focus on how their relationship with Jesus is lived through the Sacraments. Parents are also invited to attend.
A First Communion retreat and the celebration of both Sacraments will take place in June.
Elementary Classes
Students in 2nd grade or older can begin preparation for First Confession and Communion. Using the God’s Gifts® curriculum from Loyola Press, children will prepare throughout the year to receive the grace of the Sacraments. Students will gather either in person or online once a week. Parents will be asked to attend one class with their child toward the end of the year.
Reconciliation will be in January and First Communion Masses will be in May.

Confirmation
The gift of the Spirit at Confirmation strengthens us for ongoing service in the Body of Christ, in the Church, and in the world.
Purpose is a transformative approach to confirmation. Multiple components combine impactful curriculum with a powerful digital tool to enhance the process. The Purpose curriculum is 24 sessions with a heavy focus on evangelizing young people and accompanying them as they become disciples.
The Purpose curriculum is more than just a resource. It is a whole new approach to sacramental preparation.
Confirmation is a one year program. Students in 9-12th grades can participate in preparation for the Sacrament.
A Teen Mass will be included in the class preparation each week.
