Register Now! Spring ACE Workshops
The ESC 17 ACE Team has scheduled the following workshops for Spring 2020. For your convenience we have scheduled repeat sessions for the both the ESSA Federal Program Updates and Comprehensive Needs Assessment & Improvement Planning workshops. You will see that you may elect to attend either the March 31, 2020 session or the April 21, 2020 session. We know spring is always a busy time so therefore we have scheduled the program updates in the morning and the CNA/DIP/CIP workshop in the afternoon for both days.
Parent and Family Engagement – Making an Impact
March 4th, 2020
9:00 am – 3:00 pm
This day will include best practice, compliance, and strategies that will help LEA's improve the overall effectiveness of parent and family engagement programs. There will be training around Collaborative Conversations which opens doors to communication with other districts.

Comprehensive Needs Assessment and Improvement Planning
March 31st, 2020
April 21st, 2020 (Repeat)
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Participants will be provided an overview of the federal and state requirements for Title I, Part A campus and district improvement plans. Additionally, the critical components of a plan, the planning process, and conducting an effective comprehensive needs assessment. The NEW ESSA Toolkits will be presented at this time and this training may be used as TOT (training-of-trainers).

January 8, 2020 - Two districts will receive notification of the Title II, Part A – Program Requirements Validation. This is a new validation, so the details at this time are unknown. Our ACE team recommends that you have addressed the Title II expenses somewhere in your c
January 22, 2020 - Two districts will receive notification of the Title I, Part C – Migrant Education Program, Priority for Service (PFS) validation. Please check in with our Migrant specialists to make sure you have documentation.
January 28, 2020 - Two districts will receive notification of the Title IV, Part A – Program Requirements Validation. This is a new validation as well, so the details at this time are unknown. Again, our ACE team recommends that you have addressed the Title IV expenses somewhere in your comprehensive needs assessment and district improvement plan.
The majority of the random validations go smoothly if you have documentation of sign-in sheet. The attached document below is the Federal Program Compliance Division Document. After the validations have been completed, you may use the guidance and checklist to use as a resource.
