CALLING ALL ARTISTS!
Gina is asking UU congregants to please bring in one piece of YOUR artwork for THIS coming Sunday, AUG 7 to be displayed as part of "Sunday with the Arts."
It can be a photo, ceramic, painting, drawing, poem (any type of artwork) to share with us for our Sunday with the Arts service and coffee hour! Thank you!
Do You Know?
Building Plans - Does anyone know where the building plans are? They were retrieved from Cynthia Grzywinski just before Rev. DC left. It is very important that these are located as the design company does not have them due to their computer main frame frying during Covid and are not available to us.
Two way radios-Just one of the two way radios has been located. Does anyone know where the other is and also the charger for them? Discussion with some of the board members and an issue that is being presented to the Board for the upcoming meeting is to re-instate the security team as before. Should these items not be located we want to move forward with getting a new set ASAP. As in before the next Sunday Service.
Anyone with info to share on these can contact me directly via text at: 609-328-0514 (preferred, as I see this before my email)
Or email: r.schurig2007@comcast.net
Thanks,
Richard Schurig
Voices and Votes: Democracy in America
Voices and Votes will be at Atlantic Cape Community College July 11-August 14, Monday-Thursdays 10 am to 7 pm, Fridays-Saturdays 10 am-2 pm, and Sundays closed.
When American revolutionaries waged a war for independence they took a leap of faith that sent ripple effects across generations. They embraced a radical idea of establishing a government that entrusted the power of the nation not in a monarchy, but in its citizens. That great leap sparked questions that continue to impact Americans: who has the right to vote, what are the freedoms and responsibilities of citizens, and whose voices will be heard? Voices and Votes: Democracy in America will be a springboard for discussions about those very questions and how they are reflected in local stories.
Voices and Votes is based on a major exhibition currently on display at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. This Museum on Main Street adaptation will have many of the same dynamic features: historical and contemporary photos; educational and archival video; engaging multimedia interactives with short games and additional footage, photos, and information; and historical objects like campaign souvenirs, voter memorabilia, and protest material.
More information can be found here- Voices and Votes: Democracy in America

The UU community is dear to us, thanks to the UU's financial support, since last May when we opened the ConVivir Wellness Hub, we have been offering free counseling, free art programs, ESL classes, Computer classes, Parenting Skills programs, Workforce Development programs, etc.
We hope the UU community can continue to support our efforts. The individuals we serve with your financial support, are traditionally defined by what they lack of, or their impairments. people labeled as Poor, Undocumented, Deaf, children with developmental disabilities, with mental and emotional disturbances or with disruptive behaviors. We care about them because we know that in fact these people have both: limitations and strengths Our services restore their sense of personal agency, safety, and self-worth. Our programs help them develop relevant skills and knowledge, access to resources to fulfill their basic needs, and opportunities to develop meaningful relationships and contribute their talents.
Please consider joining us as we meet old and new friends in person for delicious appetizers, music, dancing, and a special announcement about Con-Vivir!
Erik Estrada, Community Manager at the Community Foundation of South Jersey, and Cassie Iacovelli, Executive Director at MainStreet Hammonton, will be honored as "Inclusion Pathfinders" for their work opening the way for diverse voices and leadership in our communities and creating inclusive communities in South Jersey.

Notes From the Board
We want to express our appreciation and thanks to Kit Marlowe and David Weesner for installing the TV’s in the sanctuary last weekend. Our audio project is progressing and we should see more improvements in the coming weeks.
Steve McGahee and I attended a webinar last night hosted by the Eastern Region UUA staff on how to run a board retreat. It was very informative and gave us many ideas for running our own board retreat which we will do this Fall after an absence of several years.
Please save the date: Saturday November 12th will be our annual auction. You will hear more about this in the coming months but wanted to get the date out to everyone as early as possible. This is our big fundraiser of the year and we look forward to everyone’s support.

Call to Action
From the Kitchen
Please bring in plastic bags to be used for folks that have a use for them such as pet waste.
Plastic bags ie: bread, rolls, frozen vegetables, etc. Many have zip locks. Those with plastic or wire ties...toss in the bag. Please, don't bring any that have food residue in them. There will be a receptacle in the kitchen for them. Thanks.
Richard S.
Clothing Donations
Place your clean contributions in the brown bin in the foyer, under the Social Justice table to the left!!
Blessing Bags
This summer the children and youth in our Children's RE program are exploring service to others. Our first principle asks us to treat each person with dignity and respect. We are going to make ziploc bags of things people who are unhoused might need, such as a toothbrush, deodorant, even a snack to keep them going. But we need help collecting all the items.
Please review the sign up link below and help us make this project a reality!
Short on time? Don't know exactly what to get? You can also order directly from our Amazon Wish List!
Donations can be brought in to UUCSJS through August 21st.
Flowers for the Chalice Table
Please speak with Colby if you wish to bring an arrangement of your choosing to our chalice table for a Sunday Service.
Contact Colby Tippins call/text: 609-442-0967.
