Canvas: Import Content & Homepage

Here are some quick guides for setting up your 2024-25 Canvas Courses. If you need additional help, please feel free to reach out!

1. Click on Commons for the Global Navigation buttons.
2. Locate and click on your school's homepage.
3. On the right side, click on Import/Download.
4. Check the box for each course you want to import the homepage.
5. It may take up to 1 minutes to import.
6. Go to the course you imported the homepage and click on the Pages Course Navigation button on the left side.
7. This is where you will find your new imported homepage.

After you have imported your homepage from the Commons, follow these steps:

1. Click on your course and go the Pages Course Navigation button.
2. Locate your new imported school homepage and click on the three dots to the right side of screen.
3. From the menu, select Use as Front page.
4. It should now be marked as Front Page.
5. Click on the Home course navigation button.
6. On the right side of screen, click on Choose as Homepage.
7. From the dialog box, select Pages Front Page.
8. Click Save.

After you have imported your homepage from the Commons, follow these steps:

1. Click on your new course from the dashboard and then click the Manage Subject button at the top left side of screen.
2. Click on “Pages” on your Course Navigation on left side of screen.
3. Find the name of the page name you imported.
4. Click the 3 dots to the right of the page name and click “Use as Subject Home” from the menu.
5. You see that the home page is now marked as the Subject Home.
