Start the New Year Off Right - Let's Get Caught Bee-ing Amazing!
To highlight the importance of good relationships and developing the skills to navigate those relationships at any age, the district believes that every student, every staff member, and every family member brings value to our school community. We will continue to support one another, and cheer each other on, because we are better together!
When in doubt, be sure to give someone a "compli-mitten!" 🤭

Student Spotlights
Anna Bucala
Anna Bucala might be small in stature but she is big in heart. If you ever watch Anna play you can tell that she leaves whatever she has out on the court. Anna is always the first to dive on a loose ball and she’s the first to pick up a teammate up whether it be physically or with her words. Anna is also part of the Key club and NHS and on the weekends you can find her helping referee the Greenfield Rec league basketball games. Anna is a great role model for all future Green Wave athletes. Go Anna and go Green Wave!

Important Survey for Transportation
Dear Green Wave Nation,
As part of the Greenfield Public Schools (GPS) Reading Challenge and partnership with the Springfield Thunderbirds, students who complete the reading challenge will earn a free ticket to a Thunderbirds hockey game on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Each child has to be accompanied by an parent/guardian, and the district is happy to provide transportation to any family in need for this event.
Don't forget to fill out this survey if you need transportation provided that evening. We want all of our families to be able to access this wonderful opportunity.
FEBRUARY & APRIL VACATION - ACCELERATION ACADEMY OPPORTUNITY!
Greenfield Public Schools has been awarded an Acceleration Academy grant from DESE. This grant will support the district’s implementation of the Acceleration Academy model, which is designed to provide intensive, standards-aligned instruction to accelerate student learning in a targeted content area.
Key components of the Acceleration Academy model include offering in-person core content instruction during the February or April school vacation weeks, with highly effective educators teaching small classes of 10–12 students.
We anticipate each Academy will provide a minimum of 20 hours of instruction in a single content area, complemented by a daily specials class, ensuring an engaging and focused experience. Instruction builds upon lessons taught during the school year. Resources will also be provided to support student recruitment and attendance, maximizing the impact of these Academies on student success. There would be no cost for families to attend the Academies.
Please take a moment to fill out this Parent/Caregiver survey so we can gauge the level of interest families have in participating in one or both of the vacation Acceleration Academies.
