Principal Note
Great 2 weeks!
The first few weeks of school, teachers and staff were hard at work creating classroom treatment agreements and reviewing, modeling PBIS and classroom expectations. Students have done a great job with using our PBIS expectations throughout the campus and out at recess and lunch. Teachers were also working on teaching students how to collaboratively learn in a group so they can begin working in stations/activities. It is cool to see our littles Cougars working cohesively as a group.
We look forward to another successful few weeks of school! Let's do this! Way to Start Strong Coungars!
Thank you for being the best community all around!

Please take time to read about CEP forms... We could lose Title 1 funding..
Parents, next school year we are not slated to be a Title 1 campus. This means we will lose ALL Title 1 funds. This totals out to over $220,000.00. CEP Forms determine if we will remain Title 1. As of now, our CEP forms show that our community is making too much money per year to remain Title 1. Please fill out the forms as accurately as possible. We are crossing our fingers we remain Title 1 because we will lose all funding if not. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Parent Right to Know Letters 2024-2025
Arrivals in morning...
When dropping off your child, please pull up to the next available car sign to help the traffic flow smoothly. Students may enter the school building at 7:00 a.m. when supervision begins. Please ensure students are not dropped off before 7:00 because we do not want students outside without any adult supervision.
If you are dropping off your child off in the front, please adhere to the city code of ordinances which prohibits the use of cell phones while driving on school property. This will help keep our students, parents and staff safe.
Don't forget to grab your fast pass when coming in to walk your child. Parents who walk in after 7:40 will not be able to walk past the office area. If needed, we will walk your child to class.
Thank you!
Attendance Updates
Our campus and district will be closely monitoring student attendance to make certain students are coming to school every day. We know that there are times when our littles get sick. Please ensure you send a note to your child's teacher as soon as your child comes back to campus.
The district has begun sending out an Automated Attendance Warnings to those parents of who have 3 full or partial day unexcused absences. Once students accumulate 3 full or partial day unexcused absences it will wait two days to allow time for notes to be inputted before sending. If a student begins to have chronic absences (more than 5), we will need to work with parents to provide our student with an intervention plan.
Currently our attendance is at 95%. This means that 95% of our Brauchle students come to school daily on an average. We would like to see our attendance continue to be 95% or higher as we want our students to come to school so they can learn.
Thank you all for being such wonderful partners with us when it comes to your child's attendance.
Dismissal
The dismissal bell rings at 3:00 p.m. Our dismissal is moving along much more smoother and faster. Please have your car tag up so we are able to quickly input the number. Parents walking up to get their child will need wait in the area at the flagpole. Please make certain that you stand behind your child's grade level cones as this will help with student safety in ensuring our students are all walking to their parents. This makes it easier to make certain that students are getting to their parent/adult. We do our best to manage both car pick ups and parents walking up to pick up. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Dismissal Changes
We know that there are times when dismissal changes may happen, please notify your child’s teacher of any changes in writing. Our teachers are busy at work teaching throughout the day, therefore if you are going to send a class dojo, please ensure you send the message of dismissal changes the day prior so teachers have enough time to see the change. Please do not ask your child to verbally let their teacher know as sometimes the information does not get to teachers accurately. If you need to make immediate changes the day of, please call the front office at 210-397-1500 prior to 2:15pm.
STUDENT SAFETY & SECURITY
Security continues to be our number one priority at Brauchle. Point of entry & exit for all visitors will be through the security lobby. All visitors should be leaving campus through the security lobby doors only. We will continue to ID all visitors on campus and ensure they are clear to enter using our Raptor system. We will also continue with our Lock down/Safety Drills, Fire drills throughout the year. Anytime we conduct a Lockdown Safety Drill, administration will be notifying parents through Class Dojo. Teachers will also inform parents. Administration and custodial staff work very closely to ensure that all doors on campus are functioning properly.
If you are going to walk onto the campus, you will need to check into the office for a Raptor badge OR fill out a fast pass to have your badge pre-printed and ready to go each day.
Please take some time to visit NISD's Safety and Security webpage to see any updates on safety. We will keep you posted as well.
