Message from the Superintendent
Greetings Raider Families and Staff,
As we enter the last days of the school year, I want to thank you for your ongoing support. As this school year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared and express my heartfelt gratitude to our students, staff, families and community. This year has been one of accomplishments, challenges, and changes and I’m personally thankful for your unwavering commitment to our students to “do whatever it takes” to continuously improve our students’ experience.
As we move into summer break, I’m hopeful that everyone can find time to rest and enjoy precious moments with family. Let’s celebrate our accomplishments and look forward to the new opportunities that the 24-25 school year will bring. Together, we will keep striving to make our district the very best that it can be.
Thank you once again for an amazing year. Enjoy the last end-of-the-school-year traditions, join us to celebrate and honor our 2024 graduates, have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the fall!
Calendar Reminders:
Last Day of School for grades 5-8: Wednesday, June 5
Last Day of School for all other students: Thursday, June 6

ISD 200 Staff Spotlight
Ms. Amanda Wilson - Special Education Teacher STAARS Program
Did you know that Special Education services in Minnesota Public Schools are required to serve eligible community members from birth to age 22? Our Special Education program offers incredible resources to serve families with many different needs. We are fortunate to have incredible staff members who help support these students throughout their entire journey in ISD 200.
Ms. Amanda Wilson is one such employee. This is her first year, but she has already made a huge impact on our students. She works as a Special Education Teacher with the STAARS 18-22 Transition program. This program provides opportunities for students to grow in areas such as job experiences/training, self-advocacy, written and verbal communication, community service, and independent living. The educational focus is to prepare the students for post-secondary life, as specified in each individualized education plan.
“I get to help students plan and prepare for their future in adulthood by helping them with life skills related to employment, independent living, community resources, recreation and leisure activities, and post-secondary education or training opportunities,” she explains.
We should all be proud that we have dedicated professionals helping all students achieve their goals, be their best, and reach their full potential. “The STAARS students are active members of the Hastings community, and we are always looking for ways for them to be active participants in the community,” she shares.
Amanda appreciates that the entire district is welcoming and family-oriented. She is inspired by her students, her family, and great friends. When she isn’t supporting the STAARS students, she enjoys crafting with her Cricut machine and having fun with her family.
We all live, work, and gather together in our community. We all do better when we can thrive and achieve great things together. Our public schools work hard to ensure that all kids in our system have the resources and skills to succeed in life. We are fortunate to have such support and caring individuals like Ms. Wilson helping to make that happen.
