Good afternoon Holly Ridge Middle School Families,
Greetings from your principal, Jennifer Newby.
We had another great week here at The Ridge! We hope you all are enjoying the fall weather and were able to stay dry yesterday!
Please remember that tomorrow, Monday, September 25th is a teacher workday. There will be no school for students. We look forward to everyone returning to school on Tuesday!
October is Bullying Prevention Month
HRMS is encouraging all students and staff to participate!
Oct. 2nd is World Day of Bullying Prevention- Wear Blue on this day.
Oct. 18th is Unity Day- Wear Orange on this day
Bullying Prevention Poster Contest
Calling all Students!!!
- Design a poster related to Bullying Prevention Month and inclusion. Be creative and colorful. The Theme is Stand Up, Speak Out. The deadline is Friday, Oct. 20th. Winners will be announced Oct. 27th. Grade level winner's artwork will be displayed in the yearbook and each student will receive a prize. Posters should be submitted to Student Services (rm 200) by the deadline.
NJHS will have its first meeting in the auditorium on Tuesday 9/26 from 3:15-4:00 pm
FFA Interest Meeting will be on Tuesday, September 26th; Interested in plants, animals, tools, and more? Please come to Room 505 Miss Reids room for more information on Tuesday, September 26 after school 3:15-4:00 pm
Drama Club will meet on Tuesday, September 26th in the Media Center from 3:15-4:30 with Mr. Davis.
GSA, Gay-Straight Alliance club will meet on Wednesday, September 27th in Room 409 with Mr. Davis from 3:15-4:30.
Interim Reports: This week is interim report week. All grades will be updated in Powerschool by no later than this Friday, September 29th. Please be sure to log into Powerschools to check your student's grades. Please note that a hard copy interim will not be sent home. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student's teacher.
It’s Book Fair Time! Our book fair will be October 13-20th in the media center. Here is the access to the live link for the book fair website.
In order to make our book fair a success, we need your help! If you are interested in volunteering to help with the book fair, please complete this Google Form. Our media specialist, Ms. Brown will be in contact with you. All volunteers must complete the WCPSS volunteer registration process. You can access the link here.
Campbell University Engineering Day: Join faculty, staff, and students to explore hands-on design challenges and team activities. Click here for more information and to register. The event will take place on November 18, 2023.
Volunteers: Anyone who plans to volunteer for the 2023-2024 school year must register using the new WCPSS volunteer system. Click “Create New Account” and complete the required fields. Unlike last year, this registration can be completed anywhere. You do not need to be on a WCPSS campus.
Registration process for WCPSS Employees who want to Volunteer: Although WCPSS employees do not have to go through a criminal record check to volunteer, you still have to register. You must select the “Current Staff of WCPSS” link on MyVolunteer to complete the volunteer registration process and must use your WCPSS email address to complete the registration.
