Greetings Phalen Virtual Leadership Academy Families,

Happy Friday! It is hard to believe that September is in 2 days! Thank you for a wonderful week. It was great seeing scholars in classes this week, actively learning and engaged. I was able to share a few chats with scholars in high school this week to check in and make sure they feel good about the school year. I received ALL positive reports and that still has me smiling.

Happy Labor Day! Labor Day is a time to honor and recognize the contributions of workers and the labor movement that has helped shape fair working conditions and rights. It’s a day to celebrate the hard work and dedication of individuals across various industries. To honor the day, consider; spending quality time with family and friends. School will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024.

Registration is still open for the 2024-2025 Academic School Year. Please share your success at PLA Virtual with friends, family, neighbors and organizations, as we may be a great school choice for them as well. Our registration link is below. We appreciate all the referrals that have been shared with us by YOU. They are proud to give your name as the person who referred them, and we also sing your praises in return as we appreciate all of our families.

We look forward to seeing your scholar(s) on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 for week 4 of our school year! Our Grades 6-12 scholars begin their school day at 8:00am and our Grades K-5 scholars begin at 8:30am.

Please view Courseware REGULARLY to ensure your student is progressing well through the content. Each class is worth a credit REQUIRED for graduation.

Make the most of your career pathway courses! You can grab the attention of potential employers across the state by completing this OPTIONAL contact form and emailing it to Mrs. Moses at jmoses@phalenacademies.org.

This contact form tells employers that your student has completed their career pathway, which is backed by the state, and they have a basic understanding of the career pathway they have chosen. It makes your student MORE EMPLOYABLE once they graduate.

On Friday, September 13th, at 9 AM, we will be touring IU Indianapolis in downtown Indianapolis.

On Wednesday, October 16th at 10 AM, we will be touring Ivy Tech in Indianapolis.

The Center for Leadership Development is hosting its 17th annual College Prep Conference and Career Fair on Saturday, September 14th. Cost of attendance is $25. Students can expect to see colleges from across the nation and attend sessions that will help them succeed in high school and college! (This event is NOT affiliated with Phalen Academies. Please refer to their website for more details.)

Phalen Virtual Leadership Academy (PLA Virtual) is a tuition-free online learning academy for Indiana families in grades K-12. We are backed by an accredited university to help empower our scholars and families to accelerate academic success with high-quality curriculum taught in their own environment.
