West Oxford Owl
November 26, 2024
As we head into the holiday, I am very thankful to be a part of the West Oxford family. I love this job, from the hugs I get at the door in the morning to checking out the incredible body systems our fifth graders created this week. This year's fifth graders were kindergarteners when I arrived, and it is a gift to watch your children grow into incredible young people. Thank you for sharing your children with us, and for your investment in our school community. The parent engagement at West Oxford is a strength, and I don't take that for granted.
Congratulations to Harry, who is our Spelling Bee Champion! This is the second year in a row that a third grader has won this competition, and we went over 15 rounds to see who our final winner would be. Congratulations to Layton, our second place winner and all of our classroom champions. We know Harry will make us proud in the district competition!
West Oxford is hosting our first Penguin Patch Holiday Shop this year! This shop is going to give our students a chance to purchase holiday gifts for their closest family and friends for a small budget. The Penguin Shop will run December 2nd through 6th. The shop will be set up "book fair style" in the media center. This Penguin Patch Holiday shop is going to teach our kids about budgeting, the power of giving, and thoughtfulness. There will be about 100 different kinds of gifts to purchase starting at $0.25. Information went home with students today.
Parents, all bus riders need to carry their bus tags. We have tied them to the hooks on their book bags. Please ensure that tags remain attached to the bags so that they can quickly board their bus. If students do not have their tags, we hold up traffic and get delayed on the route as we manually put them in the system.
Mark your calendars!
- There will be no school November 27, 28, and 29. Happy Thanksgiving!
- iMom's Breakfast will be December 10th at 8:00 for PreK-2nd grade only.
- Our Holiday Showcase is December 12th at 6:00.

- December 19th and 20th are early release days. Students will dismiss at 11:45.
