VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
*Please Read all options carefully, many new opportunities and updated hours for participation*
Service to our community is an amazing way to give back, and it’s also a unique opportunity for earning a service learning credit. Please go to the Youth Service- Community Volunteering Website for more information *Be sure to visit my.innerview.org for all updated opportunities.
*Please note, if you sign up to volunteer, people are counting on you, you must communicate with the supervising person if you are not able to attend at least 24 hours in advance.
EXTRA HOURS AWARDED: FARE FOR ALL: Are you able to help members of our community put groceries in their cars? Your help is needed at our Diamondhead Education Center Atrium from 3p-5p on the following dates:May 21, June 25, July 30, Aug. 27, Sept 24, Oct 22, Nov. 19, and Dec. 17. You will earn 6 hours of community service for each day you volunteer.
Garden Club The Garden Club will meet on Mondays (5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 6/2) from 2:45-3:30p at door 8 Near the Traffic Circle 2 hours of service will be provided for this opportunity. Select the highlighted date you would like to assist and sign up today or just show up, make sure to take a picture of your service for InnerView!
Family Fun Night at Eagle Ridge Middle School We are going to have a variety of activities, including arcade games, ping pong, board games, open gym, and concessions. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to volunteer to help with any of these activities. Thursday May 8th from 5:45p-8p you will earn 6.5 hours of volunteer service. Basketball at BHS for Blaze Swim Team On May 17 and 18, students can earn volunteer hours while watching basketball at Burnsville High School. Sign up as a court monitor to earn service hours. Dan Patch Days Volunteering Do you have a group (age 16 and older) that wants to raise some money AND give back to the Savage Community? Dan Patch Days is looking for workers - volunteers!

Dan Patch Days June 26-29, 2025 Annual City of Savage Celebration
1. Do you have an age minimum for this event? For example, the student must be 16 years old and older and does not need to be accompanied by an adult. 16 or older
2. How many people (kids/adults) are needed in a group to fulfil these volunteer requirements? See list below – more openings to come.
3. Can a group sign up for more than one shift? 1 shift per group

Tutoring Center Now Open! Seeking tutors for the tutoring center on MONDAYS and or WEDNESDAYS from 2:40-3:20.

Foundation 191 Spring Sale Distribution On May 10th from 10-12p (earn 10 hours of service) Foundation 191 is seeking volunteers to put plants into cars at Door 9 (Pleasant Avenue entrance).
WEE FARM Opportunities Volunteering at WEE Farm includes projects such as gardening, landscape, event help, cleaning, organizing, animal care, painting, etc. They can schedule a group volunteer day- or individuals can reach out to Bonnie Laabs via weefarm@weefarm.org to schedule or individual opportunities by visiting www. weefarm.org where you will find the volunteer application.

Special Olympics Minnesota 2025 Summer Games June19-22nd Special Olympics Minnesota will be hosting our biggest event of the year, the 2025 Summer Games. We will be taking over the University of Minnesota this entire weekend and have competitions in Swimming, Basketball, Track and Field and Gymnastics! At this event Special Olympic athletes from all over the state will be competing for gold in their sport. We will be offering volunteer roles in all sports, health and general event support- so we really have a role for everyone AND could really use the help! Tutoring During the School Day Are you an upperclassmen with a study hall that would like to volunteer to help younger students? Please use the following link to sign up today for tutoring during the school day. You will earn 2 hours of time for your participation each day you tutor.
BrainPower in a BackPack in Main Cafeteria After School
BrainPower in a BackPack is offered as a volunteer opportunity each Thursday afterschool from 2:36-3:20. 1 hour of service is given for participation. Please join us and help provide food support to students and their families as BrainPower gets ready for the weekly Thursday food pack for 750 students across the district. The Free Book Buggie. Each Saturday will be the Free Book Buggie book sort event from 10a-12p (4 hours of service will be provided). This event asks volunteers to count book donations, sort donated books by reading level and category, and load books into buggy for upcoming events.
Gideon Pond Multiple Opportunities There are many opportunities available for Gideon Pond Elementary. Please be aware that you must have your own transportation and the times you volunteer cannot be when you have classes in session.

Percy Jackson Musical at BHS
Burnsville High School's Theatre Guild is excited to finish out Season 64 with The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical Directed by Maddie Stuart, the local production runs May 8-17. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2pm on the 17th. Tickets are $12 for adults, $11 for seniors and $10 for students. This show is recommended for students ages 9+.
This dynamic musical adaptation of Rick Riordan's bestselling book opened on Broadway in 2019. When teenager Percy Jackson discovers he's a demigod, he and his friends embark on an epic journey to find Zeus' missing lightning bolt and prevent a war among the gods.
