Chelsea Zucal, 10th grader at WAHS, was awarded a $2500 scholarship for a summer pre-college program at Stevens Institute of Technology! The award was donated by a generous sponsor through the DaVinci Science Center.
Chelsea has been participating in PJAS since 7th grade and she had gone to the state competition a few times. She has become more and more interested in a career in engineering over the years and lately she is quite interested in the design of prosthetics. She has chosen to focus her summer work at Stevens IT in the area of Pre-Med Biomedical Engineering.
Carrie Spangler, WAHS student, was accepted to attend the Pennsylvania School for Excellence in Agricultural Sciences, formally known as the PA Governor’s School for the Agricultural Sciences this summer. The 4-week summer program will be taking place at Penn State University.
Carrie has been quite interested and involved in preparing for a career in agriculture. She has won many awards over the years at area fairs, including the Great Allentown Fair. Acceptance into this prestigious program is quite an honor!
