From the Office
Please remember to sign up for a conference time! The window will close at 11:59 PM on Sunday, February 9th. Times are first come, first serve, so be sure to schedule your time right away.
We have scheduled our Valentine's Day parties for Friday. Parties will be held at the end of the day. Students are welcome to bring valentines for all of their classmates. Please remember, boxes should be decorated at home, as there will not be time to decorate them at school.
Finally, just a friendly reminder regarding traffic flow and student safety in our upper parking lot, particularly during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. To ensure the safety of all our students, and to alleviate congestion, we are asking that families please refrain from using the upper lot as a drop-off loop. We understand that the upper lot may seem like a convenient option, but the safest and most efficient way to drop off your student is to park in the designated parking areas and walk your child across the crosswalk. Our crossing guard will be there to assist and ensure everyone's safety. Of course, you can always use the main drop-off loop by the main entrance. This will significantly improve traffic flow and create a much safer environment for our students. We recognize that some of the traffic congestion in the upper lot is related to middle school arrival and dismissal. We appreciate the middle school families' cooperation in adhering to this request. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in making our school a safer place for everyone.
Thank you,
Ryan Broshar

Counselor's Corner
Hello Westridge Families!
This month is all about Perseverance. One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.” We all experience challenges in our lives. We all have moments when we feel like we can’t do it or that we want to give up on a big task. It is important to develop tools that help us work through those challenges in order to grow in those moments instead of giving up. How might you practice Perseverance as a family this month? Perseverance is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Strong. Across grade levels, students will be developing skills like focusing, organizing, and goal-setting. Check out specific grade level skills on the newsletters below!
Here’s a fun challenge to practice this skill at home:
Can you fit your whole body through an index card? While it sounds impossible, with the correct folding and cutting technique, you can make it happen! Give each family member a 4x6 index card and a pair of scissors. Ready for the answer? You can find the directions and solution online by searching: “Fit Your Body Through an Index Card.”
Stay warm!

2025-26 Kindergarten Registration
Registration for children who will attend kindergarten during the 2025-26 school year (students must be at least 5 years of age by July 31, 2025, to attend Kindergarten), is now open at https://www.elkhornweb.org/parents/new-students/. When you register your child on the District website, we will use the email address in that registration to communicate Kindergarten Round-up information and details.
Attendance Matters
Good attendance is essential for academic success! Students who attend school regularly are more likely to stay on track with their learning, build strong relationships with their peers, and develop important interpersonal skills necessary for future achievement. Don’t forget, every day counts!
