Celebrating Greatness and Service to Our Students
We also want to recognize these students' teachers, Mrs. Ashley Harris, Mrs. Kelly Graham, and Ms. Carolyn Smith. These ladies always give 110% each day and put service to our students above all else. Someone once said, "The influence of a great teacher can never be erased." We see the positive impact our teachers have on students everyday.
Thank you, Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Graham, and Ms. Smith for your commitment and service to the children of GSFE!

Fine Arts Focus - Handbells with Mr. Lewis
The Green Sea Floyds Elementary Handbell Choir began in the fall of 2000-01 school year with a group of energetic fourth graders excited and willing to work. At its inception the choir was known as the GSFE Handchime Choir. This was because the choir had not yet purchased handbells and were playing handchimes. The initial choir was comprised of a group of fourth graders who remained in the choir through their sixth grade year. During the second year of its existence, the choir began a campaign to raise the money to purchase a three-octave set of handbells through various fundraisers and donations.
The present 2024-25 choir consists of 11 ringers from the fourth and fifth grade. At the end of each year, third graders are invited to audition for the handbell choir. If ringers are selected, they remain in the choir through their fifth grade year.
At present, the choir is preparing for the school’s annual Veterans Day Program in November and our PTA Christmas program in December. There will be multiple opportunities and invitations to play at other events throughout the school year. The choir’s big event is our yearly trek to Raleigh, North Carolina to play at the Capital Area Spring Ring sponsored by the Raleigh Ringers.
During the first semester, the handbell choir rehearses each Tuesday and Thursday morning before school at 6:35, and after Christmas it rehearses Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.
