Join the Franklin Parent Patrol – Volunteer for Lunch Recess Supervision!
🦺 We are reaching out to invite you to join the Franklin Parent Patrol, a wonderful opportunity to get involved and help create a safe and enjoyable environment for our students during lunch recess. We’re looking for parents and guardians who can volunteer to supervise students, helping with safety and supporting positive interactions on the playground.
You can choose a day and time that best fits your schedule, and any amount of time you can offer is greatly appreciated. This is a fantastic way to stay engaged with our school community and make a difference in the students' daily experience. Nervous? No worries, we will train you!😊
If you're interested in volunteering or have any questions, please check in with Letitia to sign up!
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to making Franklin a safe and welcoming place for all!
SDUSD Budget Overview Meeting
Earlier this week, SDUSD learders held the first in a series of public budget workshops as we work to address the projected $176 million budget gap.
The purpose of this initial workshop was to present an overview of the projected budget and begin exploring potential solutions. An overarching theme that came from the discussion at the meeting is that solving this budget will take the collective efforts of our entire district.
We value the input and diverse perspectives of our school community and encourage you to share your own thoughts and ideas for budget saving strategies via the online feedback form.
For those who were unable to attend, a recording of the meeting in its entirety and a copy of the presentation can be found on our website.

Membership Matters
Ok, well this is kind of embarrassing but we need your help. We really need you to become a member of the PTA this year. Having a strong membership allows us to keep bringing exciting and fun programs to the school, raise money and awareness about how parents can support their children in school, and be taken seriously when we speak to district, city, county and state agencies about the challenges facing our school. If the membership fee is a barrier, please complete our PTA Member Due Scholarship Form, and a generous corporate sponsor will cover your dues!
Despite all the amazing energy and excitement this year, we still have not reached our membership goal. Please help us now if only so we can take out this request from future newsletters.
We need all students, parents, teachers, and interested community members to join our PTA so we can advocate with a unified voice on the most important issues facing our students and families!
We'd love to hear from you! Connect with us on Facebook or Instagram, or email us at FranklinSDPTA@gmail.com to tell us what’s on your mind, how you want to get involved, or what you wish was *even better* about our school!
*Note: Family Wednesday is a chance for parents to tour their students’ classrooms and see the students actively learning from 8:20-8:50 am four times a year in September, October, January & March.
