Important Weather Updates from Your Principal:
Dear IES Families,
Additional Updates for 9/30:
On 10/1/24, we will conduct an eLearning day with “grace” as we know many do not have internet/power yet. Students will have 5 days after “the return” to the building to complete assignments and be counted attendance wise.
6 schools still remain with power outages or power issues.
Our district will continue to clear out debris from schools, check schools for other issues, address damage needing repair immediately, restore power/HVACs and check roadways today and tomorrow.
Wednesday, October 2, will be a two hour delay. For secondary schools who have late start, the two hour delay schedule will replace the late start schedule.
The school will open two hours later at 9:15 am versus 7:15 am on Wednesday.
I AM Gold Leadership group is cancelled for Wednesday.
SC Career Kids is cancelled for Tuesday afternoon.
Updates for 9/29:
All schools will be closed on 9/30/24
9/30 will not be an eLearning day. We will make up this day in February due to the amount of power outages and lack of access to the internet.
We will have feeding stations at the high schools Monday between 11-1 for bagged lunches. All students should go to their zoned high school (not choice school if applicable). Therefore, there will not be a feeding station at Spring Hill. The lunches at IHS will be served in the bus loop area or parking lot beside the bus loop.
Principals will meet with the district again Monday morning for an update about Tuesday.
4 schools remain without power currently.
There is water coming into the Broad River from NC. It has been shared that it is already two feet higher than the flood in 2015. Please be aware and stay safe!
