Counselor Corner
Hi Little Eagle Families!
February was a short month, but filled with so many great things. I was able to visit each classroom and explore how kindness and respect are important in being a great friend. Students each created a heart where they drew pictures or wrote words they may say to others to spread kindness. Each class then created a paper heart chain with all their hearts. All the class chains were delivered to the Brooklyn Living Center to bring smiles and spread love to residents. This activity brought so much joy to our Little Eagles as a way to share kindness to others outside of our school.
Career Day
CES and CUES will be having Career Day this year on Wednesday, April 17th. It will take place in the morning at CES and the afternoon at CUES. Please reach out if you are interested in participating at either or both schools.

News from the Nurse
Did you know that March is National Nutrition Month? We Can! (Ways to Enhance Children’s Activity & Nutrition) is a national education program designed to give parents and communities a way to help children learn to eat nutritious foods. As parents, you can do a lot to help your children learn healthy eating habits and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Involving them in meal preparation and cooking can motivate them to try new foods – and is a good way to spend time together as a family!
Hopefully we are nearing the end of cold and flu season! And although Spring brings warmer weather, it also brings allergies. It is important to stay healthy and distinguish allergies from a more serious illness and controlling allergies to keep asthma at bay. I have listed several symptoms, triggers and treatment tips below:
Symptoms include:
· Itchy skin
· Watery eyes
· Runny nose
· Cough
· Congestion
· Post-nasal drainage
· Sneezing
Common Triggers Include:
Pollen
Grass
Mold
Pet dander
Dust mites
Cockroaches
Treatment tips:
· Avoid allergens and keep house clean and free of pests
· Wash hands often, cover mouth when sneezing or coughing
· Change clothes when coming in from playing outdoors
· Use over the counter antihistamines and decongestions as directed
· Keep air filters changed and use air purifiers
· Allergy testing and treatment by a doctor
· Take all medications for asthma already prescribed by your doctor to keep asthma under control
Attendance Matters!
Showing up to school greatly impacts a student's academic success. Families play a crucial role in ensuring that a student gets to school safely and on time daily. We understand that absences are unavoidable, such as illness or medical appointments. Please call in advance if your child will not be in school.
