ROCORI Families
ROCORI Secondary School recognizes the growing concerns about the impact of smartphones and social media on students' mental health. Research, including insights from Jonathan Haidt’s book The Anxious Generation, highlights the risks of excessive internet use during adolescence, including increased anxiety and depression. The school is actively discussing ways to address this issue and encourages parents to monitor their children's phone use. More information will be shared throughout the school year, and parents are encouraged to explore Dr. Haidt’s website for valuable resources and data on this important topic.

JAIL 'N BAIL
Date: February 13, 2025 Time: 1st period - 4th period Place: ROCORI Auditorium
ROCORI Dollars for Scholars Jail’N Bail will be taking place on February 13th, to raise money for Dollars for Scholars scholarships for all high school students! Students "in jail," will call, email or text family members and friends and invite them to make a donation to Dollars for Scholars in order to "bail them out of jail." The goal for students is to raise funds for Dollars For Scholars. If students raise a minimum of $350, their name will be entered for a chance to win an extra $750 scholarship.
Jail’N Bail is a fun day in the auditorium with pizza, snacks, drinks and door prizes! We will be drawing names for $20 gift cards just for showing up and getting at least one donation on their pledge sheet. Students will be excused from class to spend time with friends, raise money for your future education and earn service hours for NHS, confirmation or any other group.
Jail N' Bail sign up has been closed due to high levels of participation.
Thank you for your participation and support of this fundraising event. Many students will benefit from your efforts!

MINNESOTA STUDENT SURVEY
The Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Department of Health have changed their guidance to school districts regarding the sharing of the MN Student Survey questions for students in grades 5, 8, 9 and 11. Districts are now allowed to share the survey instruments via a digital link. The survey questions for this year are linked below.
These surveys are conducted every 3 years to gather information about student health needs and related programming and supports from state agencies and nonprofits. The survey is optional. If you prefer to opt out your student, please print and submit the linked letter by Thursday, February 13th, to the school office. You may also communicate your preference via handwritten note, email, or phone call to the school.
