Titans' Times
Week of Sept. 25-29, 2023
NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION, SEPTEMBER 30TH
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30 is to honour survivors, their families, and communities, and ensure a public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools. This day coincides with Orange Shirt Day, which carries a very important message: that every child matters. Our school division is honouring the day as a Statutory Holiday so the school will be closed on Monday, October 2nd.
As a school community, we will commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Friday, September 29th, and encourage all students and staff to wear orange on that day. We will begin our morning with prayers in the gym as a school community, any parents are invited to join us for the brief liturgy at 8:35 a.m. Throughout the day teachers will be reading literature and completing classroom activities around the theme of "Remembering the Children". We are also planning to complete a schoolwide mural with orange hearts about the theme.
Blessings for a wonderful week ahead,
Mrs. Lisa Kleparchuk, Principal
Mrs. Sheri Crowston, Vice Principal

Tips for Packing Lunches
It can be tricky to come up with new and creative lunch ideas when you are making packed lunches every single day. Trying to balance nutrition with foods your child will look forward to eating can be tough!
Check out these tips from Alberta Health Services, including different menu ideas, tasty recipes, and realistic planning tricks when packing lunches for the day!
Another great resource for kids and food is from Registered Dietitian, Jennifer Anderson, who provides information and resources to help with picky eaters and how to have conversations around food with your children. She provides evidence-based nutrition and feeding practices focusing on small changes that make large differences in children’s health. https://kidseatincolor.com/
