Through quality education our students will achieve personal success

Dear TSD Community,
If you have not yet heard. I am very sad and sorry to share with you that Lorrie Gardner passed away in a car accident Wednesday morning near Durango. For any of you who did not know Lorrie, she worked at TES for many years as a classroom teacher and more recently as an interventionist. She was an amazing educator and a wonderful person, and her loss will be very hard for many in our community. Our hearts goes out to Lorrie’s family, her colleagues at TES, and everyone who had the fortune to be touched by Lorrie in their lives. We are working on plans to support our school community in the upcoming days. Kelly Treinen, TES Principal, is planning to bring her staff together on Sunday, and we are arranging counseling support for students and staff in need of it into next week.
I have let Lorrie’s family know that we have a community here ready to support them, and they will be letting us know of anything they need and any developments on arrangements for Lorrie’s services. Part of what makes our community special is the support that we provide for each other in times like this. Please care for yourselves and each other, and be well.
With genuine sadness,
John Pandolfo
