Team Curington: One Team, One Dream
Principal's Corner
Hi Cougar Families,
It’s hard to believe we’ve arrived at the final week of school. As I walk the halls and visit classrooms, I’m reminded of just how much our students have grown academically, socially, and emotionally. This year has been filled with moments of learning, laughter, and lasting memories, and I’m so proud of everything our students and staff have accomplished together.
As we wrap up the year, I want to take a moment to thank you, our amazing families, for your continued partnership. Your support, encouragement, and involvement are a big part of what makes Curington such a special place.
As we look ahead, we are always striving to grow and improve. One way you can help us is by taking a few moments to complete the Culture of Excellence Family Survey. Your feedback gives us valuable insight into what’s working well and where we can keep growing. The survey is quick and easy, and it helps ensure that we continue to meet the needs of all our students and families.
Let’s finish strong, celebrate all we’ve accomplished, and look ahead to the bright future that lies ahead. I am incredibly grateful to be part of this school community, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for our amazing Cougars.
Here are a few highlights from this past week:
🏃♂️🏅 Our 5th graders gave it their all at the district track meet
🎭 Our Faculty Undercover Spirit Week brought laughter and school spirit all around campus
🎤 The CES Talent Show gave our students the spotlight to shine, what an impressive group!
🎮 The E-Sports Club held their first tournament and had a blast
☀️ We wrapped up the week with Field Day, always a Cougar favorite full of smiles and sunshine
Looking ahead to next week:
🏆 Grade-level award ceremonies and end-of-year class parties
🎓 5th Grade Graduation, we are so proud of our students heading to middle school!
⏰ A reminder that Thursday is an early release day to close out the school year
Wishing you a joyful last week of school and a wonderful summer ahead!
Warm regards,
Michael Joannou

End of the Year Celebrations
We can't wait to celebrate another amazing year with all of you! Let’s end the year on a high note, with fun, laughter, and great memories together.
Important Reminders:
Just a quick reminder: If a student is signed out for the day, they won’t be able to return to school to attend special events like a sibling’s class activity. This policy helps us ensure all students stay safe and accounted for. If a student does return during the school day, they’ll need to go back to their own classroom. Thanks so much for your understanding and support!
Just a quick reminder: If older siblings or other family members are planning to attend award ceremonies next week, they’ll need to bring a valid ID to be allowed into the school building. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe!
Everyone must pre-check in before the event. This helps us keep things running smoothly and ensures you’re all set to join the festivities! Don’t wait, get your pre-check in done now!

Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance.
- Excused or unexcused absences represent lost time in the classroom and lost opportunities to learn.
- Official attendance times are 10am for Elementary and 10:30am for Secondary.
- Appointments should be scheduled at the start or end of the school day to be counted as D=Doctor Appointment Same Day and not as an absence. Students must be present a portion of the day for a D absence code.
- If the student is out the entire day, they are absent.
- Every student's situation is different. If there are barriers keeping your student from being at school, please reach out to us.
