Creative Fun in Mrs. Morse's World of Children Class

AP Biology Students Experiment with Biotechnology
AP Biology students flexed their microbiology muscles by performing a bacterial transformation experiment. Using biotechnology used by scientists, students genetically modified bacteria with a jellyfish gene that allows them to glow in UV light.
ALL labs groups successfully cultured glowing bacteria that looked ready for a dance party!

Students in Mrs. Morse's Food for Life class participated in the Build a Burger Contest as part of their nutrients unit on Proteins. Students worked cooperatively to create a recipe, prepare it, construct a poster, and present their new idea to a group of judges.

IN THE KNOW
Cold Weather Student Preparedness
With the colder weather here, it is important that students do NOT arrive to school before the doors open at 7:30am. Students are not allowed in the building prior to the doors being opened. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. They can always change once they arrive at school, but should have warmer clothes to and from school and to keep in their locker.
For our bus riders also, please make sure your child is dressed for the weather as bus emergencies can and do happen. It is best to always be prepared! Thank you!
