Dear CES Family,

We have some really good teachers at CES that are doing some really great things. The highlight this week goes to Mrs. O'Kelley. How much do you know about the life cycle of the frog? Well, our second-grade students know quite a bit and are demonstrating what they know by creating a digital slideshow, complete with pictures for each stage, colored backgrounds, text...pretty impressive. Your kids are learning some great 21st century skills! It was a treat to watch them follow multi-step directions, be creative, and learn new technology skills. Some good critical thinking was going on.

It's hard to grasp, but we are heading into the last couple of months of the school year. Wow! There are still so many good things in store for our students. We're looking forward to all of it! This is the time of year when lots and lots of learning is taking place. Thanks for your continued support of what we do.

It's time to start thinking about the 2024-2025 school year! With that in mind, our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten Round-Up is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16th, from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the CES gym. A little bit about the age requirements:

• A child is eligible for TK enrollment if they meet one of two age criteria:
• A child turns 5 years old between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025.
• A child turns 4 years old between June 3, 2024 and Sept. 1, 2024. This is a new extension of the age requirement for registration for the 2024-2025 school year that will allow additional students to enroll. If you wish to choose the latter option, please know that a TK readiness assessment will be administered to all students in this category in order to ensure an appropriate placement.
  
• A child is eligible for Kindergarten enrollment if a child turns 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024

Why are we extending the enrollment window for TK enrollment? Because it's good for kids. We have a tremendous program run by Mrs. Culver that is focused on providing her students with both the social and academic readiness skills necessary to ensure their success in Kindergarten and in the grade levels beyond.
