As part of this commitment, we are proud to introduce Franklin Academies, a new initiative launching next school year, designed to offer all our scholars (starting next year with 9th and 10th grade students) the opportunity to explore their passions through specialized academies.
Students will have the opportunity to select from six unique academies, each tailored to provide in-depth learning experiences, hands-on projects, and industry-relevant skills:
π IB Academy β Prepares students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) by building strong foundations in critical thinking, research, and global perspectives.
π¬ STEM Academy β Focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, offering courses in robotics, computer science, and advanced scientific research.
π± Sustainability & Environmental Studies Academy β Explores environmental science, conservation, and sustainable practices to equip students with knowledge for a greener future.
πΌ Business & Entrepreneurship Academy β Designed for future leaders and innovators, this academy covers marketing, finance, and entrepreneurial ventures.
βοΈ Health & Biomedical Academy β Offers foundational knowledge in anatomy, medical sciences, and healthcare practices, preparing students for careers in the medical field.
π Arts Conservatory β A creative hub for students passionate about band, orchestra, piano, choir, dance, theatre, and visual arts, providing rigorous artistic training and performance opportunities.
These academies are designed to help students discover their strengths, develop real-world skills, and build a strong academic foundation for their future careers. As Franklin Academies grows, we look forward to expanding opportunities and further enriching the high school experience.

Day of Service and Love: February 14th
On Friday, February 14th, Franklin Academy Pembroke Pines K-12 celebrated a "Day of Service and Love", an early release day designated as a service-learning day. All students, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, participated in meaningful activities focused on acts of service and kindness, including:
Β· No One Eats Alone Pledge: A Positive Prevention Initiative aimed at fostering a culture of belonging where all students feel accepted.
Β· Friendship Bracelet Creation: Teachers gathered to create friendship bracelets symbolizing unity.
Β· Service Coupons: Students crafted service coupons, encouraged to have them redeemed by the end of the day.
Β· Reflective Quotes Display: Inspirational quotes about service, love, and kindness were displayed around the cafeteria, prompting students to reflect on their messages.
Β· Kindness Tree: Students wrote words of affirmation on heart leaves to add to the branches of a kindness tree.
Β· Healing Wishes Card Station: Students created get-well cards for children in the hospital, which will be delivered to our local hospital.
This day was a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together, spreading kindness and love.
Unlocking Potential: IB Diploma Programme Invitations
Exciting Opportunities: IB Diploma Programme Invitations Sent Out!
This past week, our DP Coordinator, Ms. A. Rivera, extended over 60 special invitations to students to take on the challenge of completing the full IB Diploma Programme (DP). Additionally, around 40 students received invitations to enroll in select DP courses, allowing them to experience the rigor and benefits of IB while personalizing their academic journey.
The IB Diploma Programme is recognized worldwide for developing critical thinkers, problem solvers, and globally minded leaders. Students who participate in the full DP engage in a well-rounded curriculum that includes six subject areas, Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS)βall designed to prepare them for success in college and beyond.
For those invited to take specific DP courses, this is an excellent opportunity to challenge themselves in high-level academic areas while still benefiting from the depth and inquiry-based learning that IB provides. These courses not only strengthen college applications but also offer students the chance to earn college credits.
As we continue to build a culture of excellence at Franklin Academy, we are thrilled to see so many students recognized for their academic potential and commitment to growth. If you have received an invitation, we encourage you to embrace this opportunity, ask questions, and take the next steps toward becoming an IB scholar.
For more information, students and families can reach out to Ms. Rivera or visit the DP section of our school website. We look forward to seeing our future IB leaders rise to the challenge!
