On days like today, September 11, the idea of courage takes on a whole new meaning. Courage is one of our school's core values, and we aim to highlight ways we see evidence of courage (and other values) in the world around us. At Pizitz, we define courage as being brave enough to take action, even when you are afraid. We can use historical and current events to help build students' awareness and encourage living out the core values in every day decision-making. Today, many of our classrooms will have discussions about September 11th, the heroes who were helpers that day, and the significant impact their actions have on our world today. When discussing weighty topics, it can be helpful for families to have follow-up conversations at home to ensure students understand the significance of our history and how it impacts us today. Certainly, a connection with our core values would be helpful as well.

Picture make-up day is on Friday, September 15th. If you missed the first picture day, Mrs. Wade will send you a pass to come to the library during your academic strategies class on Friday.

Check your receipts to see if you have pre-ordered a yearbook. Log in to myschoolbucks.com. Click on the person icon in the top right corner. Choose "My Order History." This will show you everything you have paid for this year. If you did NOT pay for a yearbook, and you would like to pre-order one, you still can. Go back to the "Welcome Screen" by clicking on "Home" and "Welcome Screen." Scroll down until you see the Pirate face labeled "Louis Pizitz School Store" and click there. You will find yearbook and other items listed. You may have to click "Next" to see the yearbook payment option. Online yearbook pre-orders will only be available until September 15th.

First Priority is a student-led club at Pizitz. This is a Christian organization that meets before school once a week. Monthly meetings will resume this month. If you feel like you could lead games, prayer, or devotionals, come join our leadership team's interest meeting next Thursday, September 14 at 7:25 in Mr. Sutter's room A102.
