Both middle school libraries are working to create a Makerspace center in the library. Furniture has been delivered, and Makerspace supplies and equipment are coming soon.

The awesome Mrs. Babcock, at the Coolspring School library, picked out eye-catching and useful graphics for the nonfiction end caps. The graphics help students to know what's where in the nonfiction section. Thank you, Mrs. Babcock!

Are you looking for ways to utilize Accerlated Reader in your classroom? Here's a link to some additional resources. They include reading logs, student goal setting activites, instructional videos, and more. Please contact Gwen Hudson if you are not able to login to your AR account.

Newsela access is available for students and teachers. Teachers can assign specific interactive articles. Here's a list of over 2,000 MLK articles that can be filtered by reading level, standards, etc.

PBS Newshour Classroom has links to MLK related videos and audio excerpts (including MLK's "I Have A Dream" speech) that are free and easy to use in the classroom. In addition, you can find lesson plans and other educational resources.

The National Council for Teaching English has provided a list of "A Dozen Resources To Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." The list compiles classroom activities and resources for any grade classroom. While they're all great suggestions, be sure to check out #12 for creating "Found Poetry" with the "I Have A Dream" speech.
