HES Weekly Update

As we head into colder weather, please note that students will have inside recess whenever the temperature is below 20°F. Any student arriving before 7:35 will stay in the gym, and at 7:35, they will head to their homeroom classrooms or the cafeteria for breakfast. The first bell rings at 7:55, and students arriving after 8:00 must check in at the front office and will be marked tardy. Thank you for helping us keep mornings smooth and safe!

We do have school on Martin Luther King Jr. Day as we honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, a leader who fought tirelessly for justice, equality, and civil rights. His vision of a world united by kindness and fairness continues to inspire us all.

Board Game Club is going strong! This club is open to 4th - 5th grade students and will meet every Tuesday and Thursday (3:45-5:00).

Board Game Club is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in fun, strategic games that promote critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Please contact Mr. Wilz for more information (iwilz@garfieldre2.net)

Homework Club is available to every morning in the library, providing students with a quiet space and support to complete their homework before the school day begins. All students are welcomed.

We celebrated our students' hard work and progress on the iReady Midyear assessment with an exciting balloon drop! Students who achieved at least 50% growth were recognized with a balloon, and all students joined in the fun and festivities during the event. It was a great way to honor their achievements and encourage continued growth!

Set up Zonar MyView Ridership

1. Download the Zonar MyView app from the App Store or Google Play.

2. Enter the School Access Code - GAR1984

3. Enter your child's unique student ID - found on their bus pass.

4. Select the notifications method (via the app or via text message.)

Students who arrive after 8:00 must be signed in by a parent or guardian in the front office.

All visitors must have a valid ID and check in at the front office. This includes parents who walk students into the building and want to stay past the 8:00 bell.
