Due to the May GMAS Testing Window the Gifted 'testing window’ is also adjusted.

Gifted Testing

Grades 3-5 will be tested April 12-27th.

Grades K-2's will be tested May 7th - 31st.

Itinerant teachers will be coming to your school to test the 771 K-2 students.

Middle School Sports Banquet- April 26th 6:00-8:00, FPS Auditorium

FPS Beta Club will be sponsoring a school wide service project for the Boys and Girls Club of the Augusta. New and gently used sports equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, footballs, tennis balls, golf balls, etc.) may be donated for the children at the Boys and Girls Club. Items may be dropped off in one of the red bins located outside the library and the cafeteria. Donations will be accepted from April 19th – May 16th

“Purple Up! For Military Kids” is a day for DoDEA Communities to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Wearing purple is a visible way to show support and thank military youth for their strength and sacrifices. Purple indicates that all branches of the military are supported; Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue all thought to combine together as a single color, purple.

Although the national celebration is April 26th, we will participate in Purple Up Day, April 30th! Every Friday, we will honor our children in a special way. Last week, cupcakes! This week, I can't wait to see.

Kindergarten Round-Up will be held Monday, May 21, at all elementary schools, except CT Walker, Jenkins White and Craig Houghton. Kindergarten Round-up offers Kindergarten students and their parents a peek inside their school and will be the official Registration Day for Kindergarten students in our District.

The middle school students will participate in Challenge Day May 22nd.

The following is the information we have so far regarding Honors/Awards Day. Some grade levels are still working on a schedule and we will update you as we get the information.

PreK - May 24th @ 10:00 am

Kindergarten - May 25th @ 9:30 am

1st Grade -May 22nd @ 9:30 am

2nd Grade - May 22nd @ 1:30 pm

3rd Grade - May 24th @ 9:30 am

4th Grade - May 23rd @ 9:30 am

5th Grade - May 23rd @ 1:30 pm

6th & 7th Grade - May 21st @ 11:30 am

8th Grade - May 21st @ 10:00 am

We need your help. Middle School students who walk to school are getting to school early and hanging out in the cafeteria. There is no one to monitor them at this time. The custodians are in the building but are cleaning and not monitoring them. If you have a middle school child, please do not allow them to leave for school before the duty schedule of teachers. The duty schedule starts at 8:20. No student should arrive at the school before this time.

Please do not drop students off in the bus loading zone. All areas marked with a yellow curb are considered the bus loading area. Please park in an available parking spot and walk with your student. You may also use the car line at the rear of the school.

The Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon is the most recognized symbol of the autism community in the world. Autism prevalence is now one in every 68 children in America. Show your support for people with autism by wearing the Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon – as a pin on your shirt, a magnet on your car, a badge on your blog, or even your Facebook profile picture – and educate folks on the potential of people with autism!

How can I identify if my child is gifted? Take a look at this video. It can be really hard to identify if your child is "bright/smart" or "gift". Fair warning, this is a "real" mom so you may see some kinda gross real mommy stuff (mucus from a child). Knowledgeable students learn about themselves and their world, they try to learn many different things, and use what they know to solve problems in life.

Welcome to FPS passport to knowledge. Student's use their cellphone to scan the QR codes to learn about different countries. Its a big small world.

Summer school will only be held during the month of June and students will attend Monday through Friday (no alternating days) – 8:30AM – 3:00 PM.

There are 6 Middle School sites (GHMS, Hornsby, Langford, Morgan Road, Murphey & Pine Hill) which will house middle and elementary school students. Our students will be assigned to Morgan Rd.
