"Circle of Concern and Circle of Influence"

This strategy helps students focus on what they can control and influence, reducing stress and promoting a sense of agency.

1. Introduction: Explain the concept of the Circle of Concern (things they care about but have no control over) and the Circle of Influence (things they can do something about).

2. Activity: Have students draw two concentric circles on a piece of paper. In the outer circle (Circle of Concern), students list worries or problems they cannot change. In the inner circle (Circle of Influence), they list issues they can actively address.

3. Discussion: Guide a conversation on how focusing on the Circle of Influence can reduce anxiety and increase their sense of control and well-being.

4. Application: Encourage students to update their circles regularly as new challenges arise and brainstorm actionable steps for items in their Circle of Influence.
