PRINICPAL'S MESSAGE
Good evening parents and families,
I hope that you all had a great week. The weather does something to my system where I think movies, popcorn, and hot cocoa should happen on school nights and getting out of bed in the morning take a few more minutes. Even with the cold weather, it has been a great week at Elkins Pointe. We completed our iReady diagnostics for reading and math. I am excited to see how our students have grown!
I also hope that you noticed the change in day and time of the newsletter. I have heard your feedback. I want to make some commitments to you based on your feedback:
- Titan Talk will go out on Fridays between 5:30 - 6:30pm
- Titan Talk will be less flyers from the community and more news you can use.
- Assistant Principals will be sending monthly communication to their respective grade level.
- Streamlining information as much as possible.
Feedback is important because it helps me improve my practices for teachers, families, and most importantly students. Please continue to share your feedback with me. I also want to take a moment to give a HUGE shoutout to our PTSA for hosting feedback sessions, giving a survey of needs, and being an overall listening hear through our quest to become a PTA School of Excellence. This journey is meaningful and will help move us in the right direction.
Next week I will unpack safety in Titan Talk. I will share data from the survey in September and the plan to support increased safety and security at EPMS.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
AJ Smith
Better today than yesterday!
