Meet Vandeventer's New Teachers
Hello, my name is Robert Koiner
Hi, I’m Coach Koiner and I will be teaching Texas and U.S. History this year. I will also be coaching volleyball, basketball, and track. I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I received my Associates Degree from Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas. I completed my Bachelors Degree in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama. I’m married to my beautiful wife Mandy and we have five children, Savannah, Emma, Elias, Eleanor, and Errett. As a family we love to travel together and experience all sorts of fun things. I have been coaching for about 10 years. Coaching and helping kids reach their full potential is my passion. The last two years I have been teaching and coaching in Odessa, Texas. Recently, we decided to move back to the metroplex to be closer to family. I am excited to be joining the Vandeventer staff this year and I am looking forward to us doing great things together.
Hello, my name is Diana Park
My name is Diana Park. I am teaching 8th grade math and girls coach this school year. I am originally from New York. I have been living in Texas for 11 years. I have been married for 11 years and have 3 daughters; Vanessa 8, Olivia 6 and Ava 4. This October I am running in the Chicago Marathon, in honor of my mother who lost her battle with cancer in March of 2017. In my spare time , I enjoy taking my girls on adventures, the outdoors, gardening, running (of course!), the pool and just trying to live life to the fullest. My next goal is to complete a triathlon. Go Vikings!

Message from the PTA President
WELCOME TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR FROM OUR VANDEVENTER PTA!
Why Join our VMS PTA (Parent Teacher Association)?
We back the future. The main reason to join PTA is your child! Support your school, take an interest in your child’s education as well as their friends’ education, and stay informed with local campus news. Not only will you show how much you care about your child, but will also demonstrate the importance you place on their education. Students are welcome to join the PTA as well. Did you know? Your VMS PTA membership comes with a Texas PTA and National PTA membership - supporting Texas PTA’s advocacy efforts for equal funding for Texas schools, promoting accountability within Texas schools and children’s rights. As a Texas PTA Member you also receive various discounts. See https://www.txpta.org/uploads/filemanager/Member_Benefits/Member_Perks_2017.pdf for details.
Specific benefits of our VMS PTA are many! This year’s opportunities depend on you! The 2017-2018 VMS PTA members enjoyed the following events and volunteer experiences:

Red Hawk Rally - Saturday, August 18th 6-9pm
Come join us for the annual Redhawks Rally on August 18th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Liberty High School Sports Complex, this will be fun for the whole family! Spend some time with our band, drill team, cheerleaders and football teams as we have our first Pep Rally to start the year. Make sure you say hello to our booster clubs and PTSA, they will be providing food for purchase, spiritwear and even a dunk tank for all family members to enjoy. Also, we will have our local firefighters with their truck on-site for the kids to get an up close look. We look forward to seeing you there!
Help Support Liberty High School Football
The LHS football team needs your help! Each Frisco ISD high school had the opportunity to design our own custom cleat this year through our partnership with Nike. With this came many awesome opportunities and events! This summer, Nike and their team attended one of our strength program sessions to reveal our custom cleats and in true Nike fashion, they did it big. The kids loved it!
Now, we are facing off against other Frisco ISD high schools in a Twitter challenge. The football program with the most retweets gets an opportunity to present our cleat to Ezekiel Elliot and attend a Cowboys training camp practice with first row seats and a meet and greet with the players. Our boys have worked so hard this summer and our coaching staff would love for them to win this challenge and get to meet Zeke! Zeke has already showed our tweet love and gave us a RT, but we are still behind.
So in true Redhawk family fashion, let's band together and get this done! Show this tweet to your kids in class and during advisory, ask them to retweet and share, send out to your parents, retweet from your own accounts, share with your friends and loved ones, retweet from your club and organizational accounts and let's show the other Frisco ISD schools our Liberty pride.
I have attached the link to the tweet below, as well as provided a QR code for easy sharing in class.
