Lake Bluff Elementary School Family Newsletter
Hello Lake Bluff Families,
Yesterday, the youngest in each family should have received their All School Read book: Skunk and Badger by Amy Timberlake, with illustrations by Jon Klassen. Please check your child's backpack for the book. During the next three weeks, your family can read along with the community and can choose to participate in creative enrichment activities, including a celebration after school on Friday, May 9. We hope the All-School Read event is an opportunity for you to enjoy a great book with your child(ren). While reading and discussing a story together as a family, children learn that literature opens lifelong opportunities for growth and connection. Please read the full letter that was sent home to parents here. The All School Read website has a suggested reading timeline, book details and more. It will even have videos of teachers and staff reading aloud the chapters. The page will be updated regularly. It's also the location to look for our weekly quiz on Wednesdays. Each week 4 prizes will be awarded. Happy Reading!
The night you have all been waiting has finally arrived- Family Math Night! It is on Tuesday, April 15 from 6:00-7:30. Please RSVP here. It's a fun filled evening of math, prizes and snacks.
I can't believe how time is flying by this school year and we are already talking about hot dog day. For those of you that are new to the Lake Bluff Community, hot dog day is a long-standing Lake Bluff tradition. Hot Dog Day is a lunchtime picnic with families in attendance. This year's picnic will occur from 12:00-1:00pm on June 5th. Students can order a school lunch, including a turkey hot dog or veggie dog, chips, juice box, and a cookie. Please note regular school lunch fees apply.
This year, thank you to our PTO and sponsors, every student will receive a FREE Hot Dog Day shirt. Please indicate your student's shirt size on the form below. Please note we will not be able to exchange sizes, so please make sure you order correctly.
Additionally, during hot dog day, ALL students will receive their FREE yearbook. This is thanks to your generosity during Lake Bluff's Beagle Dash. The PTO was able to meet their financial goal and underwrite the cost of yearbooks. Thank you everyone!
So, please do not delay in filling out the form below, as we begin our hot dog day preparations.
Thank you and have a wonderful week!
Kind Regards,
Johanna French, Principal

Be a Voice for Wisconsin Students
Make a plan to share your thoughts on the state budget to ensure Wisconsin kids get what they need after 16 consecutive years of state budgets that have failed to keep pace with inflation. It’s time to end the cycle and store our commitment-and our constitutional obligation-to our children.
