ENGINEERING APEX:

APEX is a day-long event where high school students can participate in hands-on activities and challenges to learn more about engineering. Throughout the day, students can listen to guest speakers, learn from current Purdue Engineering students, work in teams to complete two mini challenges and one large impromptu challenge, and experience a few other fun activities. This year, APEX will take place on Saturday, November 9, and will follow a biomedical theme. Please see the flyer below to register by October 26th.

INDIANA PRE-ADMISSIONS:

Seniors, if you received a letter with a list of colleges you have been pre-admitted to, please understand that you still have to apply to those colleges in order to be accepted. Pre-admission simply means that you have the GPA and/or test scores to be considered a strong applicant, but you still must submit an application.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS:

A representative from Indiana State University will be here on Tuesday at 9:00. Any juniors or seniors interested in attending ISU should plan to meet in the Wolverine Center at that time. Any juniors or seniors who have not met with a college representative should plan to attend this meeting. These Career Discovery Meetings are a new requirement in Indiana.

SENIORS:

Now is the time to start applying for colleges and scholarships. Keep a close eye on the weekly newsletter and the school website for scholarship opportunities. You can also search for other scholarships on your own. Be sure to check for scholarships from your chosen college! Come see me if you have any questions!

Mrs. Allen's US History Class at WRV High School will be working together with Disabled American Veterans to raise money for Veterans. Each donation will purchase a flag that honors a Veteran. You may include the name of the Veteran you are honoring with your donation and we will display their name in our hallway during our Veterans Day program as well as putting their flag out in front of the school.

If you are interested in earning a "free all sports pass" and helping out the athletic department at the same time, we will once again be offering the opportunity to work athletic gates to earn your pass.

New state law, Senate Enrolled Act 185, bans cellphones during instruction time unless specifically permitted by the teacher for educational purposes. Student cellphones should be turned off and stored in their lockers or turned off and out of sight. We thank all of our students and families in advance for your cooperation with this new law.
